The Dunninghams Great New Zealand Sausage Competition is back for 2026, a real showcase of New Zealand's tastiest sausages and the talents of Kiwi butchers. We anticipate approximately 800+ entries across the thirteen categories.

We are currently looking for our panel of judges to help us find the best sausages in the land. We need butchers and culinary-trained experts such as chefs and food writers to help us critique the entries, and I was hoping you might be interested and available to help us with this sizzling task.

Category judging will take place at Fairway Events Centre, Wairau Valley on the following six days, with morning (9am-12.30pm) and afternoon (1.30pm-5pm) sessions each day.

If taste-testing sausages sounds right up your alley, and you can spare some time on one or more of the sessions, we would be delighted to have you on board. We hope that some of our judges will be able to do multiple judging sessions as some categories need to be split across two days of judging.
