This event is for SJ members only. To register, log into your membership account through Hello Club via our website and sign up for the event.

Everyone who registers will be sent a character profile ahead of time - so you’ll have some prep to do before the night!

During the school & uni break, we’ll have some extra activities happening around SJ - and here’s the programme! 👀

Thanks so much to everyone who joined us for our first term of Tea & Talk hang-outs - we’ve loved the kōrero and connection! Over the term, we’ve talked about confidence, community, stress, uncertainty, how you relax, and self-care.

𝑵𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌:
We’ll be rounding off our first term of Tea & Talk next Tuesday - this time at 1pm because of the school holidays. Our topic: (how to say) Goodbye.

This is a timely topic, as this will be our last Tuesday with Zora, who has done an amazing job facilitating the group while she’s been here at SJ on a study placement from Massey University.

Bring a friend or come as you are - everyone’s welcome. ☕

🏳️‍🌈 Come along to Queercon, Shore Junction’s youth marketspace! We’ll have music and a market all afternoon on Sat 3rd (in the middle of the holidays)
 

The market is run by young LGBT+ artists, with loads of cool stalls to check out, plus live music, free food, face painting and more.
 
📍Where: Shore Junction, 19 Northcote Road, Takapuna
⏰ When: 12pm – 4pm, with music starting at 12.30pm
💵 Payments: If you’re wanting to buy something from the market vendors, individual stallholders may accept cash, EFTPOS and/or bank transfer.
 
📣Please note:
This event will run like an Open Day, so friends and whānau are more than welcome to come along and check out what Shore Junction is all about. (SJ is generally open to members only.)
 
SJ is a space for everyone, so please be respectful of each other and help keep things welcoming and comfortable for everyone.
Our Youth Workers will be around during the event, so if you have any questions, need a hand, or just want to chat, come find us!
 
This is a v**e, smoke, drug and alcohol-free event.

I tēnei wiki, ka whakanui tātou i Te Wiki o te Reo Māori!
This week we celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori!

Every year since 1975, Aotearoa has marked Māori Language Week. It began with Māori Language Day on 14 September, marking the presentation of Te Petihana Reo Māori (the Māori Language Petition) to Parliament in 1972, signed by more than 30,000 people calling for te reo Māori to be taught in schools.

More than 50 years later, Te Wiki o te Reo Māori is a chance to celebrate te reo, learn a little more, and think about the place of te reo Māori in Aotearoa.
Te reo Māori is more than a language. It is closely connected to Māori identity, culture, whakapapa, history and the way knowledge is shared across generations.

Learning te reo isn't about getting everything right straight away.
It's about giving it a go, being curious, and creating space for the language to be heard and used.

So this week at Shore Junction, we're celebrating te reo Māori - and having a go at learning a few new kupu along the way. 🌿

He reo, he tāngata, he taonga.�A language, a people, a treasure.

Okay so Week 1 of SJ Friday Challenge Champions? Actually sick.
8 teams competed, the first champions have been crowned, and the scoreboard is officially underway 🏆

We’ve established a brand-new youth leadership team, now meeting on Tuesdays, and we’re looking for young people who want to have a say in what happens around SJ. No experience necessary - just keenness to give us your thoughts on what happens at SJ, and to be on the team running some of our activities.

We’re kicking off weekly from today, with meetings running 4–5:30pm on Tuesdays. If you want to know more, drop by and chat to the team, or flick us a DM.
