Onehunga

Have you noticed the changes to parking in Onehunga over the last four months? 🚗🅿️

When local shoppers and business owners raised concerns about parking, the Onehunga Business Association stepped in to advocate for our town centre. Working closely alongside local MP Greg Fleming and the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board Chair Debbie Burrows, we collaborated with Auckland Transport to help get this one-year flexible trial off the ground.

Because this is a flexible 12-month pilot, public input is critical to shaping how parking evolves over the remainder of the trial.

💬 Have you parked in the town centre recently? Share your thoughts and submit direct feedback to Auckland Transport! https://at.govt.nz/projects-and-initiatives/onehunga-mall-parking-pilot

One of Auckland’s most ticketed streets records drop in infringements Parking tickets on Onehunga Mall fell from 186 to 87 a week under a pilot.

Onehunga Market Day – A Celebration of Local! 🎉🛍️

Mark your calendars because Sunday 30 August is shaping up to be one of the biggest and most exciting days in Onehunga this winter!

To celebrate the final month of our hugely successful Icons of Onehunga Passport Trail, Business Onehunga is bringing the town centre to life with a special Onehunga Market Day.

Our fantastic businesses along Onehunga Mall will be taking the shopping experience outdoors, with tables lining the footpaths, exclusive specials, market-style displays, tasty treats, and plenty of hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. It's the perfect excuse to slow down, wander the main street, meet the friendly faces behind our local businesses, and perhaps find something you didn't even know you were looking for!

Whether you're searching for a unique gift, grabbing brunch with friends, enjoying a great coffee, browsing vintage treasures, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there'll be something for everyone to enjoy.

If you've been taking part in the Icons of Onehunga Passport Trail, Market Day is also the perfect opportunity to collect those final stamps. Visit our participating businesses, complete your passport, and go in the draw to win our fantastic grand prize hamper while also claiming one of our beautiful limited-edition Onehunga tote bags.

With the Warriors playing at Go Media Stadium later that afternoon, why not make a day of it? Spend your morning shopping local, supporting our amazing businesses, enjoying the Market Day atmosphere, then head off to cheer on the Wahs. It's a win-win!

Events like this are all about celebrating what makes Onehunga so special—our incredible local businesses, our welcoming community, and the people who continue to choose to shop local.

So grab your friends, bring the family, and come and enjoy everything Onehunga has to offer.

We can't wait to see you on Sunday 30 August—because there's never been a better time to Shop Local, Support Local, and be Onehunga Proud! 💙
