3 day/15 hour sit for Cameron Ownsit ⚫️ (scroll down the page to see the original reel we posted for this).

Cameron flew over and stayed with us to complete this cyber-fluid leg tattoo that I started while guesting with Kamar-Taj a few years ago. This began as a cover-up project and I’m really grateful for Cameron’s dedication to finishing this piece.

The 3 days allowed for us to tattoo slowly, take breaks and work at a chilled pace that suited us both (when tattooing behind the kneecap this is important as to not overwork the skin). Overall the piece took around 15 hours to complete :)

Thank you Cameron for the huge efforts in coming over here and staying with us. You sat so well and we loved going out for dinner, exploring Piha and the lengthy chats ☺️

Hey everyone! 🌿

The studio socials have been a little quiet over the last few weeks. We’ve been working through and recovering from some minor surgery, had a full-on few weeks of kids, birthdays and all the magic that comes with family life and being part of a village . . . and somehow it all blurred into us going a little MIA 😂

We’re still here though!

Trying to maintain an active social media life when you’re naturally hermits has its challenges, but we’ve also been very lucky to have some big projects kicking off behind the scenes. As these things tend to do, they require a lot of planning, patience and a whole lot of work before there’s anything exciting to show you.

So while the socials might have been quiet, the studio definitely hasn’t been. We’re still working away with our incredible clients and doing what we love.

A huge thank you to everyone who has reached out with new projects, ideas and enquiries, and for continuing to trust Exium with your visions. We’ve got some beautiful things happening behind the scenes and we can’t wait to share them with you.

More to come on this project . . . So happy with how it’s evolving and taking shape. We took the initial reference photo in the studio last year with Amber, which gave us a totally unique form and flow.

Would love to do more projects with this kind of prep work!

To celebrate Ace’s birthday this year, and to honour two decades of tattooing, the people who know and love him came together to commission this portrait by friend and longtime artistic inspiration, Mish

A person is more than the roles they’re remembered for. Before Ace was a father, a partner, or a tattooist, there was the spirit that shaped the man he would become. This piece honours that.

Thank you Mish, for seeing deeply and capturing him so well. It’s a gift we’ll always treasure 🙏🏼
