No More Sore Knees or lower back on Total Gym 05/08/2026

🚨 Before you blame your knees… watch this!

If you’ve been blaming your knees, you may have been treating the wrong problem.

Most knee pain during exercise doesn’t actually start at the knee.

In this video, I’ll show you why your knees are hurting and guide you through a simple corrective workout to help you move with more strength, stability, and confidence.

āø»

🦵 Do your knees hurt when you work out?

Whether it’s on your Total Gym, doing squats, lunges, walking, or simply getting up from a chair, knee pain can be frustrating—and often unnecessary.

The good news is that sore knees aren’t always caused by your knees. They’re often a symptom of poor movement patterns, muscle imbalances, or dysfunction elsewhere in the body.

In this video you’ll discover:

āœ… Why your knees may be hurting
āœ… The most common movement mistakes I see
āœ… A simple corrective workout to improve strength and stability
āœ… How to exercise with greater confidence and less discomfort

Remember… Assess, don’t guess. Your body works as one connected system, and once you understand the cause, you can begin creating lasting change.

šŸ¤” ā€œSo… what is it that you actually do?ā€

Honestly… that’s probably the hardest question anyone asks me!

Some people think I just teach Pilates.
Some think I’m a rehab specialist.
Others think I’m a personal trainer.

The truth is… I’m a little different. 😊

For over 35 years I’ve dedicated my life to understanding how the body works as one complete system.

Pain isn’t always caused by where it hurts.

A sore foot could begin at your hip.
Neck pain might be coming from stress, breathing, posture or the way you sleep.
Inflammation can often be driven by nutrition, hydration, gut health or lifestyle habits rather than an injury itself.

So when someone comes to see me, I don’t just look at the painful area…

I look at YOU. ā¤ļø

āœ”ļø Your posture
āœ”ļø How you walk and move
āœ”ļø Your hydration
āœ”ļø Your nutrition
āœ”ļø Your sleep
āœ”ļø Your stress levels
āœ”ļø Your mobility and strength
āœ”ļø Your breathing patterns
āœ”ļø Your lifestyle

Then we put all the pieces of the puzzle together.

No two people are treated the same because no two bodies are the same.

Over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to help people with everything from bunions, plantar fasciitis, knee pain and back pain through to shoulder injuries, chronic pain, mobility issues and helping people simply feel healthier and stronger again.

Now I’ve also added Infrared Sauna and Red Light Therapy, giving you even more ways to reduce inflammation, recover faster and improve your overall wellbeing. ✨

šŸ’› If you’d love to experience what I do…

I’m currently offering a Retreat Session Special for just $150.

Your personalised retreat includes:

Hydration – One of the Simplest Ways to Improve Your Health

One of my favourite sayings is:

ā€œYou want your body to be a river, not a swamp.ā€

A flowing river is constantly moving, carrying nutrients where they’re needed and removing waste efficiently. A swamp, on the other hand, becomes stagnant, sluggish and clogged.

Your body works exactly the same way.

One of the simplest, cheapest and most powerful things you can do for your long-term health is to drink enough water every single day.

The Research

A comprehensive study following nearly 5,000 people over almost 7½ years found something remarkable.

People who consumed more water had a significantly lower risk of dying from all causes, including cancer.

Researchers also found that:

* Higher water intake from drinks was associated with better longevity.
* Water-rich foods such as vegetables, fruit and soups also provided protective benefits.
* Coffee and tea contributed to overall hydration.
* Better hydration was linked with a lower risk of death from cancer.

(PMID: 35495952)

There Isn’t One Perfect Amount

One mistake people make is believing everyone should drink exactly the same amount.

That’s simply not how the human body works.

The larger the body, the more cells there are to nourish and the more ā€œterrainā€ there is to hydrate.

As a simple guide I use with many clients:

šŸ’§ Around 60 kg: approximately 3 litres per day

šŸ’§ Around 80 kg: approximately 4 litres per day

šŸ’§ 100 kg and above: approximately 5 litres or more per day

These are general guides. Your ideal intake will also depend on:

* Exercise
* Heat and humidity
* Sweating
* Illness
* Medications
* Pregnancy or breastfeeding
* Kidney or heart conditions (where fluid advice should come from your healthcare professional)

The goal is to keep water moving consistently through your body throughout the day rather than drinking large amounts all at once.

Think About Kinetic Flow

Water creates kinetic flow throughout your body.

Every heartbeat pumps fluid.

Every breath moves fluid.

Every step you take encourages circulation.

Good hydration helps support:

* Nutrient transport
* Waste removal
* Blood circulation
* Joint lubrication
* Digestion
* Temperature regulation
* Healthy fascia and connective tissue
* Brain function and energy

Movement and hydration work together. The more you move, the more efficiently your body’s fluids can circulate.

Don’t Forget Sodium Balance

Hydration isn’t only about how much water you drink.

It’s also about maintaining the right balance of electrolytes, particularly sodium.

Research has shown:

* Blood sodium levels above 142 mmol/L were associated with a 39% higher risk of chronic disease.
* Levels above 144 mmol/L were associated with a 21% higher risk of premature death.
* Higher sodium levels were also linked with accelerated biological ageing.

The Take-Home Message

Don’t wait until you’re thirsty.

Sip water consistently throughout the day.

Eat plenty of water-rich whole foods.

Move your body regularly to encourage healthy fluid circulation.

And remember…

You want your body to be a river—not a swamp.

Keep the water flowing, keep your body moving, and you’ll be giving every cell the environment it needs to perform at its best.
