What’s the difference between a car wash and car detailing?

A car wash is mainly an express service that removes surface dirt and may include a quick vacuum. Professional detailing is much more thorough and can involve deep cleaning, decontamination, polishing, restoration and protective treatments.

A car wash cleans the vehicle. Detailing aims to clean, improve, restore and protect it.
