TERM TWO - GRACE BRANNIGAN

Wow wow wow!!!!

Term two has been a mammoth lesson in gratitude, hard work & self care.

I cannot believe we are already HALF WAY through this wild journey! Everything we’ve done this term has taken me creatively to places I’ve never been before. I honestly did not think I’d enjoy creating our own dances, stunts or exploring Laban but I dove in with full commitment and they ended up being some of my biggest highlights of the term!

I want to give a massive thank you to Sophie Roberts for guiding us through approaching a play, getting to dive into People, Places & Things was such a special experience & I am so thrilled to have been able to sink my teeth into a character as meaty as Emma!

I’m so grateful to my cohort for the support and generosity we’ve shown each other as each week got more intense, I’m excited for two more terms with this lovely bunch!

I’m approaching term three with all the playfulness and curiosity I have!

TERM TWO - ISAYAH SNOW

Term two was a bit wack, in the best way. Filled with so many new experiences and teachings, I’ve been pushed and pulled in so many directions.

Shakespeare, stunts, dance, even just learning how to breathe right.

Everything was thrown at us and it’s been so incredible to watch myself and my cohort grow these amazing skills that we got to put towards our ‘Approaching a Play’ era of this term.

I’m ready for rest, yet can’t wait for term three.

TERM TWO - MIRABELLE HOLMES

And just like that, another term is over!

This term was definitely tiring, but so rewarding. Over the last 10 weeks, I’ve learnt so much about myself as both an actor and a person, building even stronger connections with my peers and growing as an ensemble.

Looking back, I can’t believe how much we packed into a single term. There were so many highlights. We had stunts with Amand Weaver, was something completely outside my comfort zone but I LOVED it!!!!!!!!! Studying Laban work with Sara Wiseman was one of the most incredible experiences I’ve had this year. Those two weeks challenged me in all the best ways. Stagecraft with the legend Jennifer Ward-Lealand was a massive highlight, then getting to put these skills learnt into practice during our Approaching a Play made it even more rewarding and getting the opportunity to learn and be directed by Sophie Roberts was Incredible. I’ve been pushed creatively, physically and mentally and have so many new tools.

Feeling so grateful for everything and incredibly excited for term 3!!!!!!!

TERM TWO - ANTONY DINOLAN

I can't believe how fast everything went, cause one minute I was diving deeper into Shakespeare, the next I was getting thrown around in stunt class, awakening parts of myself through Laban, learning stagecraft, discovering how to write for film, squeezing dance in between, and then suddenly we were rehearsing and performing People, Places & Things.

And I've never been this tired before; every week felt like another challenge as Laban kept pushing me to move further than I thought I could. Combat taught me to trust my body. Shakespeare challenged my voice and imagination, so every class seemed determined to remind me that there was always another level to reach.

AND I loved every minute of it

My notebook for this Term is filled to the brim with notes, ideas, questions, discoveries, and pages of scribbles that probably only make sense to me. Looking back through it, I can see how much I've grown without even realizing it.

A huge thank you to Sophie Roberts and every tutor who invested their time, knowledge, and patience into us this Term. Thank you for pushing us further than we thought we could go.

But now time to catch some zzzz's before jumping to Term 3.

TERM TWO - MAXIM JOHNSTON

Term 2, Gone in a flash!

The biggest lesson I’m taking from this term is trust.

Trusting that the work and preparation are there, so I can let go and be present in the moment. Trusting myself to be open to discovery, rather than trying to get it “right.” And trusting my ensemble deeper as we took on our first play together as a company. It pushed us in new ways, but it also reminded me how important it is to stay connected, catch each other, and trust the process.

A huge thank you to all our tutors and everyone who shared their time, knowledge, and passion with us this term. And to my ensemble, Thank you all! You inspire me to push myself, listen more deeply, and to have fun! I can’t wait to see what we create together in Term 3!!! :)

TERM TWO - MIRIAM NOONAN

Term 2 has been full and intense! I have felt stretched, challenged, frustrated and delighted. Tried Voice Over for the first time, battled it out in stunts, explored the space between with Daniel Cooper and Miranda Harcourt, delved further into Shakespeare, pitched a short film, honed stage craft with Jennifer Ward-Lealand, continued building and integrating vocal technique with Cherie, took Laban out onto K Rd with Sas and got to bring a play to life with Sophie Roberts. Feeling knackered and grateful. Thank you for another fantastic term TAP!

TERM TWO - DANILA BUBLIK

“Trust.” A short word with a lot of weight, sitting at the heart of this term.

Trust in the process.
Trust in disobligation to set us free.
Trust in our tutors to lift us up.
Trust in the ensemble to catch one another.
Trust in Kate to not hit me with a wooden sword.
Trust in myself to not hit Kate.
Trust in us both to persevere when we inevitably caught each other’s fingers and watched them swell to twice their size.
Trust in the words that have survived four hundred years.
Trust in embracing the abstract physicality of Laban.
Trust in my body to know where to move.
Trust in my body to keep going.
Trust in the magic of the fale’s piano.
Trust that grief could become grace.

Most of all, trust that all the work, preparation, and effort I’ve put in will be enough. When the moment comes, I don’t need to think - I simply need to trust.

All that’s left is trust.
