That's a wrap for the 2025/26 Racing Season π
What a wicked season it's been. After stepping back into Streetstocks, this year was all about getting back out there, learning the new car and having heaps of fun with my mates. And boy did we do that!
There were so many highlights from the season. Having two cars meant my brother and best mates could jump behind the wheel and have a blast around the track, I managed to take out my first ever championship meeting at the Aussie Spares Invitational at Huntly Speedway which was epic, we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel to quite a few different tracks around the upper north island which was massive for learning my cars better and to top the season off last weekend we had the Rotorua Stockcar Club Prize giving and ASC Racing was awarded with "Best First Year In Streetstocks" which is a pretty special trophy to get with some really great names on there so thank you again to the club for sending that my way.
First and foremost massive thank you to my sponsors without your support I wouldn't have been able to have the season I did so thank you for backing me. And to my crew I appreciate you all, especially for week in and week out supporting me and travelling where ever I went. Whether you worked on the cars, helped out between races or cheered me on thank you for just being there. This season 100% wouldn't have been the same if I didn't have the backing that I did from my family and friends. Another huge shout out to Shane from Unique Speedway Engineering for building us an awesome wagon. And to my brother Daniel from CRT Curran Racing Team thank you for all your time and effort bro, for all the hours you spent helping and getting me race ready.
For next speedway season we are set to have both cars racing full time which Iβm very excited about and chomping to get back into!! Lessgo Streetstocks!!! π€©

Waikaraka Family Speedway - Streetstock 290s
It was bit of a doozy for us up at Waikaraka, 16R was digging her foot in every race which was quite fitting considering the hectic lead up to this meeting with my motor needing major repairs. Had several teething issues that needed to be fixed down at the track just to get out there in time so when I finally hit the dirt in that first race I was stoked!
Race 1: Grid 3 β 10th
Not an ideal start, I couldn't maintain a consistent speed throughout the race. Wasn't till I got back into the pits and figured out my car only had half the throttle
Race 2: Grid 13 β 11th
After the throttle fix, 16R drove well but the track was full of ruts giving me a bit of grief
Race 3: Grid 14 β DNF
Got tangled up in lap one and broke my steering rack on the left side, was able to keep the wheels turning but put a hit on another car in lap two and ended up completely snapping the steering rack
This meeting ended up being our last one for the season due to a change of dates so talk about a banger to finish things off π Despite the results it's always wicked to get out and head to another track with my awesome crew. Thanks for having us Auckland! Full season write up coming soon π€

David Stumpy Schrader Streetstock Memorial π
Bit late to post up about this one, life's been a bit hectic but couldn't miss talking about how special this night was for the Schrader-Curran's. The old boy would've be proud with three of us boys and two of his grandkids being out on the track that night.
My brother Brad was racing in 169R for the night and he did awesome, ended up being the highest point scorer out of us three. I finished the second race being 3rd overall on points but by the time we got back out 16R didn't want to go anymore. Turns out when I was going around the dummy grid I snapped the bolts off of the flywheel, damaging the clutch, pressure plate and crank. Overall despite the results it was a wicked night for my family and I know dad would have been with us all night.
Huge thank you to Paradise Valley Speedway for putting this meeting on for Dad, a massive thank you to my sponsors that make it all happen and to my crew who hold it down for me. Blessed with the best I reckon π

Aussie Spares Invitational - Huntly Speedway π
What a wicked night at Huntly! Awesome people, awesome racing and a night I won't forget anytime soon. The last time I raced here I ended up taking a quick ride to Waikato Hospital, so I was pretty keen to come back, get a bit of redemption and actually finish all three races this time. Turns out the night went even better than expected and I managed to podium for all three races and take out my first overall win, which still feels pretty unreal π
A massive thank you to Paul from Aussie Spares for putting the meeting on. Paul has been a massive supporter of streetstocks and has been backing our class for over 20 years. Huge congratulations as well to Corey and Logan on their placings too! And to the rest of the streetys, cheers for always putting on a good show and racing hard.
Race Results:
Race 1: Grid 7 β Finished 3rd
Race 2: Grid 1 β Finished 2nd (pushed hard to hold the lead but Bundy in 59R is just too quick)
Race 3: Grid 11 β Finished 2nd (absolute chaos off the green flag with hits, spins and rollovers, but managed to avoid it all and work my way through)
Still absolutely buzzing from the weekend and really looking forward to getting back out there to do it all again. As always, Iβm incredibly grateful for the support from my partner, best mates and family who follow me around and support me at every race meeting. I couldnβt do this without you all and of course my amazing sponsors too. Just a really big cheers to my team π

Rotorua World 240s MK Build Challenge π€
Post is a week or so late but man it was so good to get back into the Streety again and put my foot flat! Been a while between races so I was super keen to get out there again. The MK Build Challenge was up for grabs on the night, we had a good field of 12 cars which can always cause havoc on the tight Rotorua Track.
Race Results:
Race 1: Grid 8 β Finished 8th (really struggled to get anywhere on the very wet slick track)
Race 2: Grid 2 β Finished 7th (got spun out around turn 2 during lap 1 unfortunately, pushed hard to get back up to 7th from being last)
Race 3: Grid 9 β Finished 3rd (jimmied up a couple changes to the car which made some huge improvements on the wagon)
Finished 5th overall which was massive for me, starting to head the right direction, learning my car and loving it! Next meeting is in a couple weeks time so back in the shed to make some more improvements and then it's on π
Big thanks to my crew and sponsors who make it all happen, I really couldn't do it without you guys!
