AMERICAN ME led them all the way in the first North Island Go Media New Zealand Trotting Cup lead up race - the IRT Spring Cup 🏆

Quickly away to take control from the front, the Matty White trained and driven pacer continued his excellent form at The Park to hold off Better Knuckle Up, with Jeremiah third.

We’ve had Rowena Smyth from Equine Performance Therapy NZ treat our race horses using PEMF Therapy for a couple of years now and have had great results, particularly when horses have a series of races they are targeting.

Rowena was also a talented jockey prior to hanging up her boots so she also understands the workload, training and race schedules of racing stables and can adapt and target treatments to suit each horse! 👌

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy. The machine sends a pulsing magnetic field through the tissue, and that pulse encourages blood flow to the area. Blood flow is what the body uses to shift inflammation and get repair moving.

That's it. No heat, no needles, nothing invasive. Most horses stand quietly through a session and plenty of them switch right off.

What it won't do is replace your vet. It isn't a diagnosis and it isn't a fix for a structural problem. It sits alongside veterinary care, not instead of it.

What it does do well is help a horse recover — after a hard gallop, after a race, after a long day at a show or out hunting, or through a rehab programme. Hard work is hard work, whatever the discipline.
