A huge congratulations to the two teams of Te Rerenga students who traveled to Tairua to compete in the Eastern Coromandel Schools Math Ex competition.

Both the Year 5/6 and Year 7/8 teams won! The Year 7/8 team even had to compete in a tie breaker question against MBAS, which was very exciting and had everyone cheering.

Jen Commins was very proud, as the teacher in charge to have the organisers come and let her know that, not only were our children awesome for taking out the competition but that they were all very polite and the team talk the organisers overheard was very positive and supportive.

Huge thanks to Claire Veevers for all the effort she has put in with training this group!

Out of Zone Enrolments The board invites applications from parents who live out of the school zone who wish to enrol their children at Te Rerenga School for 2027.

Panui #15 4th September 2026 Te kura o Te Rerenga o kapa haka rōpū

What an outstanding kapa haka performance by all of our tamariki at the Cultural Festival at Coromandel Area School today. We are very proud of you all. A huge thanks to all of the team behind the scenes, getting them to this performance level, especially Chrissie Threadgold, Roimata Taimana, Meri Bradfield, Johnny Mangakahia and Odette Wilson and the Te Rerenga staff.

MATARANGI BASKETBALL Years 5-8

Matarangi Basketball kicks off Monday 31 August, 3:30–4:30pm at the Matarangi court, run by Paul Dixon.

Each session is a mix of coached skills and half 3x3 games — half court, teams of four, so everyone gets plenty of court time.

COST
$50 for all six sessions, or $10 per session if you'd rather come and try one first. Fees to go towards equipment costs.
All welcome, beginners especially. No gear needed — just a water bottle, a hat and shoes you can run in.
