8.00am-5.00pm We began in 1979 when Dr. Brian Gibson began a solo practice in the De Latour Road shopping centre.

He joined with 3 other doctors to move into Kaiti Medical Centre which pharmacist David Moore built in 1982. The practice grew and eventually, 30 years after it began, it was time to expand. He puku māuiui kei te haere – tummy bug in our community

Kia ora e te whānau.
We are currently seeing diarrhoea and vomiting circulating in our community, most likely due to viral gastroenteritis.
Most people can recover safely at home with rest and plenty of fluids:
Take small, frequent sips of water or oral rehydration solution.
Continue breastfeeding pēpi and offer feeds more often.
Eat small amounts of simple food when able—toast, rice, bananas, soup or crackers.
Avoid fatty foods, alcohol and very sugary drinks.
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water, clean bathrooms and frequently touched surfaces, and don’t share towels or eating utensils.
Stay away from mahi, kura, kōhanga or daycare until at least 48 hours after the vomiting and diarrhoea have stopped.
Please seek healthcare advice if you or your whānau:
Cannot keep fluids down
Are passing very little or dark urine, have a dry mouth, sunken eyes, dizziness, unusual sleepiness or confusion
Have blood in the vomit or bowel motions
Have severe or worsening abdominal pain
Have a high or persistent fever
Are not improving after several days
Are pregnant, immunocompromised, elderly, or have diabetes or significant long-term health conditions
Have a pēpi under 6 months with vomiting or diarrhoea

Call 111 if someone is difficult to wake, collapses, has severe breathing difficulty or appears critically unwell.

If unsure, contact Three Rivers Medical on 06 867 7411 or Healthline on 0800 611 116.
