The Gore Multisports complex incorporates Ice Rink, Aquatic Centre, and MLT Event Centre. We are the place to meet all of your sporting needs ☺️

The Gore Multisports Complex is made up of the Gore Aquatic Centre, the MLT Event Centre, Ice Sports Southland ice rink and Eastern Southland hockey's water turf. The aquatic centre offers lane swimming, aquarobics, the Leaping Frogs Swim School and Sharks Squad, hydrotherapy pool, leisure pool and kiddie pool. The four-court event centre can be set up for training, competitions, netball, basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball and tennis. It has seating for 300 people and the main court is wooden sprung. Great open space for any function or event. The ice rink is an Olympic short course sized rink, used for figure skating, ice hockey and curling. Please call for public sessions. MONITORING
The multisports complex is operated by the Gore District Council and this page adheres to its social media policy and guidelines. The Council promotes freedom of speech and encourages residents to have their say, be it a compliment or a complaint. Second last day of the school holidays!!! Make it a fun one and test your skills on the Buccanneer or have a slide on the Dragon :) The volleyball net will also be up. Inflatables will be available from 1.30pm - 4pm.
Reminder a 25m swim test must be completed by everyone who wishes to play on the large inflatable.

Sunday 4/10.
Today we will have the Dragon and volleyball net in the Leisure pool and the Tarzan Rope and free-floating inflatables will be available in the Main pool all from 1.30pm - 4pm.
Reminder a 25m swim test must be completed by everyone wanting to participate on the Tarzan rope 🏊

Today's inflatables are the Buccaneer and the Dragon!! Volleyball nets will be up too : ) Inflatables will be in 1:30pm - 4:00pm. NOTE: those who wish to play on the Buccaneer will need to sit a 25m freestyle test first.

Over the past two days, we have had the huge privilege of bringing together aquatic professionals, teachers, and teacher aides from across Southland and South Otago to learn, connect, and grow.

A special thank you to the great Scott Wilson of Swim People for travelling from Christchurch and delivering both training sessions. Your knowledge, experience, and passion for quality swim teaching are always greatly appreciated!

We'd also like to thank Katrina Garrett (Swimming Southland Development Officer), Emma Kennedy (Swim School Coordinator, Splash Palace), and our own Meagan McCabe (Gore Multisports Complex Shark Squad Head Coach) for their support of the days and their ongoing contribution to aquatic education in our region.
On Sunday 27 September, swim instructors from Gore, Balclutha, and Invercargill came together for a fantastic day of professional development.
Thank you to our friends at Balclutha Centennial Pool and Splash Palace, and to all the swim instructors who gave up their Sunday to continue developing their skills and knowledge for the benefit of the swimmers they teach.

Then yesterday on Monday 28 September, we welcomed an amazing group of teachers and teacher aides from Riverton, Waikaia, Limehills, Invercargill, and Gore. During their school holidays, they generously gave up time with their families to attend professional development focused on aquatic education and water safety.

A special thank you to the Active Southland Tū Manawa Fund for funding Monday's workshop and helping make this opportunity possible for our teachers and teacher aides.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended these workshops! Your commitment to professional learning helps ensure more children across our communities have access to quality aquatic education and water safety experiences and we really appreciate you all.
