GMS Newsletter Week 10 Term 3 2026 The following students have been working hard to display the schools values of Perseverance, Respect, Excellence, Kindness and Integrity. The value we are focusing on this term is integrity.

Yesterday we said farewell to Mrs Henry who leaves GMS to take up a new position at Māruawai College. Thank you for everything over the years Mrs Henry and we wish you all the best for the next chapter in your career.

Southland Rugby League Champions - This will be a day to remember!!! After 2 months of training our team showed up and played some awesome league. They followed the game plan and run in some amazing tries. The other pleasing thing was that no one scored on us. We kept every team scoreless. The final was intense as we came up against an amazing Dipton team that had us pinned on our line for most of the second half. Mr Cool Calm and collected Wyatt sliced through to give us our only try for the final. So proud of every player who did their part for the team and throughout the day had some moments to remember. Well done to our players who made the tournament team, you definitely deserved it. Another player we all want to mention was our tackling machine. The smallest guy on the field and making close to 50 tackles per game. Jude was amazing. If they ran near Jude he brought them down. Lastly, Emma Patterson you were an awesome manager. Had everything sorted for us, help with transport and helped cheer the team on. Long day but well worth it. To everyone who came to support the team thank you. GMS Southland Champs!!!!!! Now jersey cleaning time. Thanks again Rebecca and the Eastern Rugby Crew for lending us the kit.

Here are the new Southland Rugby League Champions!!!!!!! Up da Main!!!!!

League update. 3 wins from 3 games. No tries scored against us yet. Final here we come!!!!!!

GMS Rugby League Team - One more sleep until we head to Invercargill to compete in the Southland Rugby League Tournament. Today we held a jersey presentation. Look how good we look!!! Big thank you to the Eastern Rugby Crew for giving us the Eastern Jerseys. Now we go and represent the East and try and bring the trophy home. Updates will be posted to Facebook through the day.
