A very busy week in the Club last week with us feeding 140 people on Wednesday night, the Morrinsville College students in on Friday and Dennis Marsh and Brendan Dugan in to a full house Saturday night.
Hope everyone enjoyed themselves and thanks for your support to the Club and the artists.

THE WALL
Demolition of the wall has started!
Odlum’s are the contractors and they have now officially taken over the site, so please follow all instructions and signage that they may request.
The footpath outside the Club will be closed and temporary traffic management will be in place to help pedestrians move safely through the area. Drivers may experience temporary changes to road layout, signage or speed limits around the site.
There will be a one way system operating around the Club, starting from our Studholme Street second entrance (not the main entrance). Please travel around the Club SLOWLY and exit via the bowling greens onto Lorne Street. There will be space to drop patrons off with very limited parking available. All persons should be looking to park on Lorne Street and then walk through to the Club past the bowling greens. Please be aware of the humps and uneven surface.
The courtesy van will be operating and will get you door to door so please consider using this. The van will be free for use during this time. Just ring the Club on the night to book. Phone (07) 889 7014
DO NOT park in the staff carparks. Disabled users should park at the end of the staff parks, but please make sure you do not block access to Lorne Street. Disabled users should display their disability carparking signs at all times.

Please do not let all this work put you off coming down. We need your patronage more than ever at this time! The Club will be open normal hours.

95th ANNIVERSARY CLUB SHIRTS:
A design has been settled on and we are now taking orders for 95th Anniversary Club shirts.
If you are interested in purchasing, we have sizing shirts here for the next few weeks to try on to ensure you get the correct fit. (They do rate on the small size so be prepared to size up).
Just check in at the bar and we will sort you out.

DONATIONS:
As has been mentioned a number of times, both within the Club and here in our newsletter, we are looking for donations to assist the Club with its upcoming financial cost of repairing the retaining wall.
Many discussions and negotiations have been had between your Executive Committee and MPDC, and, after at least 5 years, we have now reached agreement.
Council is funding 70% of the repair, while Morrinsville RSA is responsible for 30% of the cost, with a cash payment of $100,000 to be made by us on completion of the project.
Donations will assist with the cash payment while we are also looking at Grants from other sources to also assist.
A number of people have already kindly donated to the Club either by way of a cash payment over the bar or by bank payment. We are incredibly grateful to all who have supported us.
You can still make a payment, either at the Club or on-line. Bank details below.
All donations over $5 are eligible for a Tax refund so if you would like a receipt please get in touch.

Morrinsville Lions will be hosting a ‘Lone Diners Lunch’ on Sunday 4th October 2026 at the Rotary Community Hall in Canada Street.

PARKING:
We are much closer to work starting on the retaining wall.
While it will be inconvenient, it has to be done and we are excited that we are now very close!
There will be a lot of disruption to the Club, in particular access and parking. There will be a one way system operating around the Club. Please ensure you follow all instructions and signage.
For safety and security, there MUST be staff parking. Please DO NOT PARK IN STAFF SPOTS. Disabled parkers with a visible current disabled parking permit may park at the end of the staff carparks, as is the case now, but will need to ensure they do not block any access ways for the one way system to operate. There may be some parking available in the Club carpark for all other drivers, including bowlers, however most will be required to park in Lorne Street and walk through past the bowling greens. Please be aware of the ‘humps’ and uneven surface.
We encourage all members and visitors to please utilise the Courtesy van which will get you door to door and, during the construction period, will be free to use.
We will still be open so don’t let this put you off coming down!!

We are getting closer to the wall repair. Yay!
This is early notice that there is going to be a lot of disruption to our parking over the next few months.
More details will be advised closer to the time, however please be aware that there is going to be limited parking around the Club which will affect Club members and bowlers.
Please start getting prepared to park on Lorne Street and walk through.
We also encourage club members to use the Courtesy Van.
