A new TRT 3x8 Low Loader for Base Contracting Ltd 💪
With over 15 years’ experience across excavation, infrastructure and specialist projects, Base Contracting needed a trailer built to handle the demands of moving heavy equipment from job to job.

- Double-acting suspension
- Torsional box swing wing arms
- No deck locks or pins - any width achievable
- Fitted with ship locks for 40ft containers and heavy mine site boxes
- Full progressive auto-greasing system
- 13 metre deck length
- With ramps still to be built, there’s complete flexibility for customisation

Happy 80th Birthday, Duke! 🎉
Today we’re celebrating a very special milestone for one of the true characters of TRT, Duke’s 80th birthday.
Duke has been part of TRT for more than 50 years, starting as an Automotive Parts and Merchandising Apprentice at our old premises on Te Rapa Road and today working as a Technical Adviser within our Transport Parts team.
Over the years, Duke has become known as the backbone of our Transport Parts business and our go-to problem solver and solution finder. His knowledge, experience and willingness to help have made a huge contribution to TRT and the customers he has worked with along the way.
Looking back, some of Duke’s favourite memories are hitting the road with Robert Flood, travelling around New Zealand fitting gearboxes and learning hands-on alongside customers.
After more than 50 years at TRT, Duke says it’s hard to put into words what the business means to him.
“The people I have worked for have always supported me, through the highs and the lows. The door has always been open. I don’t have the words to express my gratitude.”
Today, it’s our turn to say thank you.
