Before the sun came up this morning, we gathered at St Anne's Catholic School and Parish in Manurewa for the blessing and karakia of the soil, marking the start of The Fale.

This Pasifika-focused build carries real community and cultural significance, and it's a project we're incredibly proud to be part of.

The Fale is being led by Leo Savelio and the team at HP Build Ltd, with AJ Drainage and Westcourt Contractors (WCL) helping to deliver it. Behind the scenes, Oyonnx and LM4 Group has been working alongside Leo to get everything ready, bringing together the contractors, earthworks and project support needed to make it happen.

For us, this project shows what's possible when our people work together. Pasifika businesses coming together, backing each other and delivering a project that will serve the wider community for years to come.

Thank you to St Anne's, the parish community, and everyone who joined us this morning. This is just the beginning, and we can't wait to watch The Fale take shape.

Some partnerships look good on paper. The ones that matter create opportunity.

Last Friday, we celebrated the Fonterra NZ × LM4 Group partnership, alongside one year of the Fonterra Pacific Network.

What started with a simple question, “What could we do together?”, is turning into something tangible.

We’re seeing strong interest from students across Aotearoa, including in engineering, technology, data and research.

And the pipeline continues to grow, with younger students already looking towards opportunities in the years ahead.

That’s the beautiful part — the curiosity is real.

From students exploring careers, to professionals considering new pathways, to Pasifika small businesses asking where they fit.

Now it’s about turning that curiosity into opportunity.

Our CEO, Apulu Alo Aliitaeao (TJay) Asiata, put it simply:

“This isn’t simply a partnership between Fonterra and LM4 Group. It’s a partnership between Fonterra and our Pasifika community. We are just the current caretakers.”

A special acknowledgement to Suliana Mailangi and Michelle Skipworth, who were part of those early conversations and helped turn them into action.

And to Daz G., Mel and the wider team, thank you for bringing everyone together and delivering such a special event.

We’re proud of the milestone.

But the launch isn’t the achievement.

Grateful to have Isabella spending time with our Alignz Christchurch team at the Addington office.

Also really appreciated the opportunity to connect with Lynonah, Vice President of CUSSA — Christchurch University Samoan Students’ Association.

Through the relationships we’ve built with Puatala, we’re fortunate to be in a position to connect our young people with businesses, experiences and pathways they may not have known were possible.

We don’t take that responsibility lightly.

Grateful for the conversations, the connections and what might come from them.
