Howick Brass Band

The versatility of a brass band!!!

Two weeks ago we shared our performance of Uptown Funk, but today, something totally different.

Yesterday at the Auckland Bands Association (ABA) contest we were awarded 1st place in the sacred item section for our performance of Kyrie (Lord have mercy)

Originally a 13th century Gregorian chant, Kyrie has been beautifully arranged for Howick Brass by our Musical Director, Matthew Verrill.

Thank you Matthew for your guidance, musicianship and arranging such beautiful music.

Hope everyone enjoys Kyrie

Gabriel’s Oboe

One of those beautiful melodies that quiet the room and draw everyone in.

Beautifully performed by Sarah on flugelhorn

We are very lucky to have some incredibly talented young musicians at Howick Brass.

One of them is our solo trombone player, Matthew Stubbs, performing the beautiful Stardust at our Daffodil Fundraising Concert last Sunday

Not your usual Monday morning funk but Uptown Funk (arrangement by Jon Cook) performed yesterday at our fundraising concert

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our fundraiser concert in aid of the Daffodil Appeal.

Stal Himmel - listen out for our talented percussionist Viv on the glockenspiel

What a great afternoon at Pakuranga Retirement Village! 🎺🎶

We had a wonderful concert and an absolutely fantastic audience. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported Howick Brass — it was a pleasure to play for you! ❤️

We have more videos to share, but we’ll start with a classic favourite — The Floral Dance 🌸🎺
