I’m stoked to be stepping into the role of Southland President for New Zealand Certified Builders.

I’m looking forward to the time ahead, working alongside our Southland members and helping continue to build a strong, supportive community within our industry. A big thank you to our former President, Will Kennedy, for his support and guidance as I take on the role.

Last week we kicked things off with our Southland members event, bringing together around 20 members for an evening of industry discussion, some awesome speakers and plenty of time to catch up and share our industry ideas. It was also great to have CE Melcom Fleming and Territory Manager Nick Mooney make the trip down to the Deep South to join us for the evening and support our Southland members.

It’s great to see such a strong group of builders getting behind each other, and I’m excited for what’s to come! 👊🏼🔨

A great day spent investing in our team!

This morning we welcomed the reps from Makita and Hilti, who took the time to showcase some of their latest tools. It’s always great to see what's new in the industry and keep our team up to date with the best gear available.

We then headed to Brenda Nom Mortgage & Insurance Advisor for a session covering everything mortgage related, KiwiSaver and the path to home ownership. It was an excellent opportunity to give our team the knowledge and confidence to work towards smashing their own personal goals 💪🏽

To wrap up the day, we held a meeting before finishing with a well-earned BBQ together.

Last week, we had the opportunity to attend the New Zealand Certified Builders Conference in Auckland. It was a busy couple of days filled with insightful speakers, industry updates, and plenty of valuable learning.

Great to meet with fellow builders and industry professionals from around the country, sharing experiences, ideas, and plenty of tradie chat.

There’s a lot of detail involved in our latest project. On site for our team isn’t just construction - it’s coordination, problem solving, getting the details right and a lot of phone calls!
