From worn and weathered to proudly displayed once again. How good does this old print look on a modern day chromaluxe metal panel….
One proud daughter will be displaying her beloved dad in style for years to come.

Over 100 years old… and it’s lucky this photograph survived this long.
This beautiful portrait arrived with shattered glass, heavy damage, and decades of wear. Originally created around the early 1900s, it had been pressed onto glass and carefully kept through generations wrapped up and barely seen.
Portraits like this often had hand-painted accents to add colour and detail, a delicate process that made every piece unique. You can still see the craftsmanship in the soft skin tones and clothing details.
Despite the damage, enough remained to carefully restore the image, preserve the original painted detail, reprinted it onto specialty cotton rag paper and custom framed it so it could be displayed proudly once again.
What makes pieces like this so special isn’t just the age, it’s the story they carry.
The woman in this portrait was his second wife who helped raise an existing daughter after her mum passed, a chapter of family history that still deserves to be remembered. Even after loss, remarriage, and the passing of time, this photograph remained deeply important to the family.
Some photographs are simply too meaningful to leave fading away in a drawer.
Photos like these are more than pictures.
They’re connection, memory, and legacy preserved for the next generation.

Before digital… there was this!
A full roll of film, printed as contact sheets, every moment laid out, untouched.
This week, we scanned these and turned them into something that can be kept, shared, and enjoyed again.
Funny how the smallest frames can hold the biggest memories.
Do you have any of these tucked away?

Recently, someone visited us with a phone photo of a beautiful mountain scene they wanted printed at 11x14".
It looked great on the phone, but wasn’t quite strong enough to enlarge.
During our chat, they mentioned they might still have the original slides at home. We scanned them, brought back the detail, and the difference was incredible.
What started small became a sharp, detailed print full of life.
Their reaction:
“I didn’t think something so small could go up so large.”
It’s a good reminder, sometimes the original holds more than what we think.
Do you have old photos or slides tucked away somewhere?
