Due to the high winds and forecast rain this morning - we are going to move our planting day to the afternoon. New plan:

12pm soup lunch at Moss Hall - 1 Mahunga Drive
1pm project update then planting for those who are happy to.

The forecast suggests the wind and rain will ease after midday. Please feel very welcome to come to some or all of the afternoon events.

Planting day is tomorrow! All welcome :)

It's a bit miserable out there today so we're going to postpone our planting day to NEXT Sunday, 23rd August - same time, same place.

In the last few months, we've been getting right into the stream removing weeds in the hope that some heavy rain will help wash away the silt that's been building up. We got our wish with that last big downpour. It worked beautifully - silt has gone from thigh-deep to ankle deep. It was the perfect reward to be able to paddle down the stream with our whānau when the flow was still high from the flooding.

Come join us this Saturday at 2pm for some mahi in the awa. Some of us will be hopping in the stream to keep it clear of weeds, others will be releasing plants and we'll be furthering our plans for installing a picnic table.

I love this so much! Who knows what could be hanging out in our neighbourhood!?
