Giving this pool house a much needed face lift this week, repairing rotten timber and updating the paint. It's amazing what a new colour can do!

Today's supervisor slacking off.

Tidying up after the plumbers have been tracking down a leak. Fixing the holes, then plaster and paint leaves the hallway wall back to its previous best.

Just about done on this master suite bedroom, only some nice new window latches to fit and the curtain rail to reinstall. It's been a long road this one, but it has turned out very well.

This master bedroom is coming on in leaps and bounds. The gib has been finished and taped, the cove has been installed and the trims (architraves, skirtings and such) are in progress; the room is really starting to take shape but still a long way to go.

Amazing what a difference just a coat of primer makes!

Week 2 of the master bedroom transformation.
Gib stripped, new insulation installed and on to re-gibbing the room, except for the tongue and groove feature wall.
T&G also used to line the small hallway that comes into this space from the main house.

This is our starting point to build this room into a master bedroom that the homeowner will love. We will be stripping the whole room right back, installing new insulation and taking out the French doors. Then comes the fun part with new gib, new trims and a subtle paint scheme.

Check in each week to see the progress on this complete renovation.

Part one of this transformation. This room was previously used as a storage space but is being upgraded to a dressing room for a mini master suite in this Featherston home.

New insulation, gib, cove, skirtings and doorway have been fitted to match the rest of the house then the whole thing painted in neutral colours that can be dressed as liked when the new vanity, mirror and soft furnishings are moved in. New lighting and plenty of plug points make this such a useable space.

Look out for part two coming up in a few weeks!

A long job but totally worth it. This hallway had suffered badly at the paws of a particularly destructive cat and was in need of a total makeover.

Six layers of wallpaper were removed, the gib was repaired and then skimmed to create a smooth surface for paint. The cove and ceiling were restored and finally everything was painted or varnished in a neutral palette to bring light to the space. New ceiling lights and plug points (thanks to A&K A&K Plumbing and electrical) complete the look.
