Quiet offerings for curious souls. Words, images, music, and moments of presence. Hey you. Welcome home. Think self-help meets soul-stirring soundtrack.

Yeah, you — the overthinker, the feel-everything-er, the brave soul who’s still standing after all life’s plot twists. This page is about to become Chartaki where they'll be songs and books that help you accept, integrate, and celebrate who you truly are — no filter, no fixing, just realness and rhythm. Think memoir meets heart medicine. Think reggae for your rage, blues for your heartbreak, pop for your pep talks, and ballads for your healing. After a lifetime working in mental health, alcohol and drugs, homelessness and su***de prevention, I’ve learned one thing for sure: we’re all gloriously messy, and we’re all worth loving anyway.

🌀 Everything I make lives over at my new website (coming soon!).
🌀 All songs, books, and scribbles from the heart — in one cozy corner of the internet.
🌀 Live shows and events coming soon. Get comfy, stay tuned. Let’s turn our wounds into wisdom and our stories into songs. Come as you are. Stay as long as you like.

This song’s been playing around in my soul for the last year.

I wrote Happy Go Lucky after visiting a golden temple on top of a mountain in northern Thailand. I’d just been blessed by a monk who had only a little English. As I was leaving, he looked at me with this stellar smile and shiny glimmer in his eye and said:

“Happy go lucky.”

It stayed with me, and became a song.

I’ve been exploring sharing and performing more of my songs this year, including trying out different arrangements. Here’s a more chilled, loungey version of this one.

If there are any songs you’d like me to share, or ways you reckon I should try playing them, let me know.

The next few may also feature this slightly growly vocal tone, courtesy of a recent bout of the lurgy. Apparently I’m entering my accidental Tom Waits period. 😂

Would you make a deal with the devil to make it to the top?

This is a live clip from my song Deal With the Devil - about staying true to what matters, rather than selling your soul just to get ahead.

I’ve got a full studio version too - I’ll put that in the comments.

What did you use to dream of?

Before life got so… full.

Before the practical things took over.
Before the sensible voice got louder than the curious one.

This song is a little reminder that those dreams didn’t disappear.
They just got quieter.

And maybe today is a good day to listen again.

Lyrics:

Verse 1
You gotta make a living,
If you’re able
Put a roof over your head
And put some food on the table
But when you make the money
To pay your rent
Don’t ever think for a minute
That that’s the reason, that you were sent

Chorus

You gotta keep on dreaming,
You gotta keep believing now
You gotta keep on dreaming baby
You gotta keep believing somehow

Verse 2
As a little kid As you get older
you dream every day
those precious dreams
They start to fade away
But if you take a minute to look inside
If you look deeper enough baby I think you’ll find
Those precious dreams, they’re still alive

Chorus

You gotta keep on dreaming,
You gotta keep believing now
You gotta keep on dreaming baby
You gotta keep believing somehow

Where the sky meets the sea…

Things have felt a bit full on out there lately.
So I came back to something simple.

Snuck away for a night in one of my favourite places
(comment if you reckon you know where 👀)

Sharing this for anyone who needs a little ease in their scroll.

I’ve started putting more of these on YouTube too - link in the comments if you feel like joining me.

For anyone having a hard day today.

Hold on. It won’t be long.

Get up early. Work all day. Pay the bills.
Somewhere along the way, life starts asking a quieter question: Is this really what I’m here for?

These sofa songs may be plotting an escape… 🎸

If you're in Nelson and you’d enjoy a small, intimate live performance sometime, let me know below or message me. I’m gently testing the waters and seeing whether these songs want to leave the sofa and wander out into the world.

Note: the second song in this session speaks openly about su***de and survival. Please take care if that’s a tender topic for you today. And if you need support, you can find options around the world here: https://findahelpline.com

A small lyric from a song called Flow River Flow.

Sometimes the map disappears and the only thing left is trust.

Wrote this little riff after Noel Gallagher said on the BRIT Awards that no one gives a sh*t about singer-songwriters.

I agree: no one gives a f*ck… unless the algorithms pick you up on TikTok 🤳🎸

If this made you laugh, hit follow to defy the Ai and give a 💩

Wrote this song in Chiang Mai inspired by a blessing from a monk.
