Each horizontal beam, within each ring of the pot, is one of 108 pairs of horizontally laminated glulam beams.
Each beam was trimmed to length onsite and drilled to accommodate the structural steelwork and allow for tolerance due to the changing curved radius shape.
Manufactured from H5-treated feedstock and resorcinol glue to suit the exposed nature of the site, the beams were finished with 2 coats of CD50 due to the harsh nature of the sea spray environment. 🦞
