A little movement is better than none!
Why does movement matter when you’re living with a lung condition?
When breathing is difficult, it can be tempting to move less. But regular movement can help your muscles become stronger and more efficient, meaning they need less oxygen to do everyday activities. Over time, staying active can also help improve fitness, strength, confidence and your ability to manage daily tasks.
And movement doesn’t have to mean a long workout!
Our Move2Breathe 5-Minute “Something Is Better Than Nothing” Workout is perfect for those days when you’re low on energy, short on time, or simply don’t feel like doing much.
Join Deb for just five minutes, move at your own pace, take breaks when you need them, and remember…
Something is always better than nothing.

You don’t have to manage your lung condition alone
Pulmonary rehabilitation is about much more than exercise.
One of its biggest benefits is learning more about your condition and gaining practical tools to help you manage it in everyday life.
Across our 8-week programme, you’ll be supported by health and exercise professionals and learn about topics such as breathing and chest clearance, medications, nutrition, conserving energy, sleep, self-care and managing your respiratory condition.
And you’ll be alongside other people who understand what living with breathlessness and a lung condition can be like.
There is strength in learning, connecting and discovering what you can do.
Our next FREE Pulmonary Rehabilitation course starts Tuesday 13 October at Club Waimea, Richmond.
Interested? Either ask your GP or healthcare professional for a pulmonary rehabilitation referral, or contact Respiratory Support Nelson to find out more.

“I’m too unfit for pulmonary rehab…”
We hear this worry, but you do not need to get fitter before coming to pulmonary rehabilitation.
That’s what we’re here to help with.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is specifically designed for people living with chronic respiratory conditions. Exercises can be adapted to your current abilities, and you work at your own pace.
The aim isn’t to be the fastest or strongest person in the room.
It’s to build your strength.
Improve your fitness.
Increase your confidence.
And help you get more out of everyday life.
Why not give yourself the opportunity to see what you can achieve?
Our next FREE 8-week Pulmonary Rehabilitation course starts Tuesday 13 October in Richmond.

Small steps really can make a difference!
You don’t have to make huge changes to make progress.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is about taking manageable steps towards becoming stronger, more active and more confident living with your lung condition.
During our 8-week programme, you’ll exercise at a level that is appropriate for you, with support from our respiratory nurse and exercise professional.
Over time, those small steps can add up. Pulmonary rehabilitation has been shown to:
• improve your ability to exercise
• reduce feelings of breathlessness
• improve quality of life
• help you feel more confident managing your condition
And you don’t have to keep up with anybody else. Your progress is your own.
Our next FREE Pulmonary Rehabilitation course begins Tuesday 13 October at Club Waimea in Richmond.
Ask your GP or healthcare professional for a referral, or get in touch with us to find out whether pulmonary rehabilitation could be right for you.

Could pulmonary rehabilitation help you do more of what matters to you?
When you live with a lung condition, it can be tempting to avoid activity because getting breathless feels uncomfortable or worrying.
But with the right support, you can learn how to exercise safely, manage your breathing and gradually build your strength and confidence.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is one of the most effective things you can do to help manage a long-term lung condition. It can help reduce breathlessness, improve exercise capacity and improve quality of life.
You don’t need to be fit to start. You start from where you are now, and we help you build from there.
Our next FREE 8-week Pulmonary Rehabilitation course starts Tuesday 13 October in Richmond.

You can complete the whole workout or simply do what feels manageable. Every little bit of movement counts!
