https://youtu.be/DJaXDAAXILs?si=LjoCnVf1pUb6nUFr Thanks so much to Austin putting on this show. Thanks again Ryan for creating such an amazing video which perfectly showcases the high caliber of artists who played. It was an epically fun day. Thank you to everyone who came to see our set. đ
Loserpalooza 2026 For the second year running I decided to try and film one whole son...

Don't forget to come along to Loser Palooza this Saturday at 11 TOTARA STREET Mount Maunganui. All proceeds to Lifeline. Koha entry but please donate generously. 25 bands over 12 hours kind of generous. We are playing at 5.30pm upstairs, and are extremely thankful to be invited to play amongst Tauranga's best. This is a really fun gig with a great vibe always, so get along if you can!
This years Loserpalooza timetable is in..
Threat.Meet.Protocol and Growndownz are shunted down from the top of the bill to an ignominious double starter slot due to audience apathy, an inability to write a new set list, and wanting to be home before everyone else plays.
King Fish and Everything is Farked, compete for who can finish their set quick enough to get to the bar for first drinks.
Pug Men, Beatnik Staffs, Cat Face, Meet Me At The Cemetary and HYROKKEN engage in a battle for the âWho was that? They werenât too bad actuallyâ title.
Eddie and the Dreamers, not too early/not too late in order to drag the Shannonâs away from the bar.
Dead Simple would have been earlier but they had to repossess your car. Sorry about that.
Pipeline Punks and Velouria - your under 18 headliners before we kick all the kids out and can finally let loose with out having to be on our best behaviour while their legal guardians were around.
SIX TWOS, Dead Empire , Carrion Bride, Hemordroid and talismernz trade blows for the âI think they were better when I saw them at Loserpalooza the year beforeâ and the âsh*t they got oldâ cup.
Wince get the nicest possible allocation for travelling all the way from Wellington to play for free, without actually subjecting anyone to them on the main stage.
Shane Duncan and False Waltons in the actual headline slots at 10 and 1030pm before everyone succumbs to their poor life choices and extremely long day of live music and start leaving en mass.
Iâm saving This Is How We Die until a time where I can get away from the merch table to see Evans face when he tries to make sense of their tech rider and the 6 bass amps they want to use.
Skonk.
Itâs only fair to put Seemore Skinner on last as Everdts back from all those falls canât hold out much longerâŠ
Loserpalooza 15th August 2026. Totara Street. 12 hours from 12pm. 2 stages. 25 bands. Koha/donation entry but please be kind (at least $20) as all proceeds go to Lifeline Aotearoa to aid in their efforts with su***de awareness and prevention. Under 18âs welcome with their legal guardian but must leave at 7pm sorry.

With each passing year that we do Loserpalooza, and this will be our 8th, the world continues to grow in to an uglier, scarier place. War, and not peace seems to have become the new global norm. The poverty gap widens between the extremely poor and the sickeningly wealthy. Catastrophic weather events wreak havoc around us. And despite the begging and pleading of everyone from Africa to Antarctica, James Cameron continues to commit to making more movies in the Avatar series. Have mercy please.
And for this our global energy is shifting. Cynicism, pessimism, racism, sexism, James Cameronism and all the other âisms are on the rise. People are getting darker in their thoughts and feelings are lashing out in all sorts of tragic actions unto themselves and others, thus forging a dangerous path of isolation and desperation. And can they even be blamed for this when their examples of leadership are failing them with their own misguided and destructive actions?
Luckily here, in our own little Tauranga music microcosm , we now largely escape this due to a word largely lost elsewhere: COMMUNITY. We as we can affectionately call ourselves are the Losers... Those that have been battling dark thoughts for a lifetime, but who have found solace in music and now with each other. And especially with your Mum.
Look around, you will struggle to find an alternative music scene as united and bonded as the one we have. From the ridiculously old like Stuntclown, to the enviable youth of Pipeline Punks, we all find unity in the one this thing we love - music, Music MUSIC. And with this we all try to bring each other up to a high consciousness. No Loser left behind.
But not everyone is as lucky as us. Some people donât have Losers in their life to look out for them. And because of this, and the fact that we have community, we must use the love which we have for each other and share it with those around us. Those that are overwhelmed by this world and in need of help may not even know that there is help for them.
So with your help letâs do this again...
Loserpalooza 2026: Saturday August 15th. 12 Loser hours. 2 loser stages. 25 loser bands. At Totara Street.

Our local alternative music community has in fact grown so much over the last year that we have had to whittle down a short list of 60 alternative acts to the usual list of nepotistic favours and elitism. Apologies to those we could not fit in, next year letâs take over the CBD.

Donation entry, but please try to set yourselves a $20 minimum, last year I was very disappointed by the amount of people who entered with $5 and then spent $100 on alcohol. I know alcohol might help you with your own depression issues but I would really like to make some more $ for Lifeline.
For Anna and all those lost before their time.

I'm obsessed with this version of Goodbye Horses by Lazarus. So good. Great talent coming out of Tauranga encouraged by Austin Cunningham, Ryan Greenwood and Simone Anderson among others. -Lara the Fat Koala.

When you're not a professional musician, or maybe even if you are, life gets in the way of music too often. But life experiences create more lyrics and more music. So although Dead Simple aren't out there playing lots of gigs, we are still living life and creating music, and practicing! We have a new album yet to record, and then an album after that and another album after that. Time to put our boots on and make it a reality. đȘđŒ
