Join us for an unforgettable weekend of mountain views, road trip playlists, hot pools, card games, cosy accommodation, and good company. This isn’t about rushing through the Tongariro Crossing — we’re taking things a little slower and soaking it all in with one of the most scenic hikes in the region: Tama Lakes 🌊✨
Nestled between the volcanoes, Tama Lakes delivers incredible alpine views, volcanic landscapes, and a true winter adventure without the intensity of the Crossing. Expect snow-capped peaks, epic photo opportunities, and plenty of time to enjoy the journey with the crew.

🏔️✨ Pinnacles Weekend Recap ✨🏔️

What a weekend. From late-night laughs around camp at Broken Hills to chasing sunrise views at The Pinnacles, this trip was packed with the kind of moments that become core memories. 💚

Over two days, we explored the beautiful Coromandel, camped under the stars, soaked in the coastal vibes, and tackled one of Aotearoa’s most iconic hikes. The trail took us through native bush, across swing bridges, and along historic kauri logging tracks before the final ladder climb to the summit. And as always, the views were worth every step.

But what made this trip wasn’t just the scenery - it was the people. The shared challenges, the spontaneous conversations, the car ride playlists, and all the little moments in between that make OffGrid trips so memorable.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made this weekend one to remember. Here’s to more adventures, more sunsets, and many more core memories together. 🌿🌄

Our first overnight Hut Trip of the year! Come and join us in the Kaimai ranges as we tackle Te Rereatukahia Hut on an advanced 9km traverse across the ranges. We are looking to be walking for about 6 hours, possibly in the dark, so adherence to the gear list and a good level of fitness will be crucial.

AUT Offgrid Presents: O-Week Trip #2 Duder Regional Park!

We’re back for a favourite day walk of ours at Duder Regional Park! Come soak up the beauty of the Pohutukawa Coast with us on one of Tamaki Makaurau’s best day walks. On Saturday the 2nd of August, we’ll be tackling the Duder Regional Park Loop which is 6.3km and will take ~2 hours to complete. It is a beginner-friendly track so fitness wise all you gotta have is a good attitude :)

AUT Offgrid Presents: O-Week Trip #1 Omanawanui!

We are heading back to the wonderful Waitakere Ranges to complete an epic coastal walk near Huia. We will start at the Omanawanui carpark and complete an out-and-back track passing over the top of Omanawanui, with 360-degree views. The track is moderately challenging and is well-maintained. It is a steep track with lots of stairs so keep this and your own fitness level in mind and let us know if you have any concerns. Length: 7.7km, Elevation gain: 347m.
