On Saturday our whānau in Te Tauihu held the launch of Pākihi Rangatahi.
Over the past few months, rangatahi have been busy creating their own businesses, getting a 101-style introduction to pākihi and learning some of the basics, from planning and costs to pricing, promoting their ideas and bringing them to life.
The weekend was their chance to showcase their businesses, sell their products and share what they’ve been working on with whānau. Ka pai koutou!

A huge mihi to everyone who showed up to How to Enrol the Govt last Friday - Poneke represent!

To everyone who gave their time and shared their mātauranga on the night, our artists our kaimahi Thankyou all so much and to our partners Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira Inc Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai Charitable Trust Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Inc who made this night happen ngā mihi nui ki a kōutou.

Knowing how the voting system works and making sure our whānau have the information they need is something we all have a part in.
We don’t need to be experts. We just need to have the kōrero, share what we know and help each other navigate it.

We also hope everyone has recovered from Hori’s attempt to become one of the Enrolment Baddies. 😂 We’re still processing that performance.Seriously though — We don’t have long whānau.

A couple of important dates:

* Sunday 4 October — enrol by this date to receive an EasyVote card and be on the printed roll.

* 5–25 October — you can still enrol, but you’ll need to cast a special vote.

* Midnight 25 October — absolute cut-off. After this, you cannot enrol or update your details for the 2026 election.

Check your details. Talk to your whānau. Get your people sorted. Repeat.

When our people are clear on what to do we move. ✊🏽

💬 What if we reimagined the way we make decisions as a country?

Helmut Modlik — Tumu Whakarae and one of the co-founders of Re:Shape — shares why reimagining democracy matters and what’s next for the kaupapa.

Re:Shape is a community-led kaupapa exploring how we can create better ways of making decisions in Aotearoa.

For Ngāti Toa Rangatira, this kōrero matters because iwi is an intergenerational endeavour — the decisions we make today shape the future for those who come after us.

The kaupapa has been in progress for some time, and the recent unconference was an opportunity to pick things back up, reconnect and build some momentum around where Re:Shape can go next.

Now, it’s about keeping the kōrero going, building connections and turning ideas into action.

More dialogue. More imagination. More possibilities.
