Thanks to everyone who’s checked in on Hunter after his rather spectacular crash in the third race today 😂

Appears he cross-rutted going up the jump and went for a wee mid-air spin that definitely wasn’t part of the race plan. Bike went one way, Hunter went the other, and gravity took care of the rest. 💀😂

He’s been checked out at hospital and thankfully he’s all good — nothing broken, just bruised, battered and probably going to wake up tomorrow feeling about 90 years old.

We’re bloody proud of his efforts today. He gave it everything, got back up, and thankfully walked away in one piece — that’s a win in our books.

Few bruises, slightly damaged pride and another story for the collection. 😂

Big shout out to Motoworx Winton and Justin Shaw. He had just got home from work today Saturday when he got the distress call from us. Hunter was racing the Southland champs today when he completely wreaked his clutch and with the first round of the Southern Series which is our main series on tomorrow. We were sure our series was over but no, Justin didn’t have a clutch on the shelf but stripped one out of a new bike for us and by the time we got to Winton he was waiting to get Hunter back racing tomorrow. This is why we love Motoworx Winton as they go the extra mile to support their clients. Haven’t seen clutch plates broken like this before with bits through the casings but all removed flushed out and we are back.
You are a legend Justin. Thank you so much. One very happy boy.

A pretty special day for the Meikle family at the 2026 SDBR Prizegiving! 🏁💚

🏍️ Hunter set himself one goal at the start of the season—to finish inside the Top 10 in the incredibly competitive Junior A class. Racing against a field of 30+ riders, he didn’t just achieve his goal… he smashed it with an outstanding 4th Overall. We couldn’t be prouder of the dedication, determination, and hard work he’s shown all season.

🏍️ Paige was also recognised, receiving her trophy for finishing 2nd at the 2026 Club Championships—a special reminder of what was her last ride.

The highlight of the day was the Meikle family being honoured with the Hard Charger Award. This recognition celebrated our family’s continued commitment and contribution to the club over many years, along with the fact that three generations of Meikles have shared a passion for motocross racing.

Having three generations together to accept the award made the moment even more meaningful. It was a proud reminder that motocross is about so much more than trophies—it’s about family, friendships, giving back, and being part of an incredible community.

A massive thank you to Southern Dirt Bike Riders, the volunteers, officials, committee members, and everyone who works behind the scenes to make this club what it is.

What a weekend in Christchurch at the 2026 Michael Godfrey! 🏁

I’ve never raced this track before, so it was a pretty cool experience. I raced 5 races over the weekend and my lap times got faster every race as my confidence grew.

To come away with 5th overall, I was stoked! 👊

A huge thank you to my Nana, my big brother, his partner and my nieces for coming out and supporting me. It was awesome having you there cheering me on.
