This site grows out of my desire to be creative during a slump in employment. The items will not be limited to yarn I hope to create bespoke it

Having the tools, masses of excess yarn and the desire to not sit and read all day (although that is tempting).

It’s been a flat out year with lots of knitting. One ambitious project was a sampler in Te Reo for our second grand daughter. No pattern available so was done freestyle, with slightly wonky but satisfying results. Photo was taken prior to pressing and framing.

With two more grandchildren due this year many little items have been on the needles. To change it up a bit I’m making a couple of crochet items for a Luma installation. The outside of one is finished.

Made over many months as a travel project this hexagon blanket is from a Spotlight pattern but random baby 4ply. Finally finished its off to keep a grandchild warm next winter.

Variations on the theme of infant sleeping bags. My son requested them as they have found the stretch in knitted garments easier for getting wriggly baby’s into and out of.
My grandchilds parents have requested that their child’s image not to appear on Facebook.

Over the last few months I’ve been making contributions to Adventures in Wool’s installation for LUMA. Lots of fun an learning was had by all, plus a few creatures were made. Thanks to Adventures in Wool for such a great idea.
Pictured below are my main contributions.

Just finished this quilt for my Granddaughter. Lots of work happening for Luma this year but can’t post any of that work until after the event in June.
