Dear all, I have just made the big decision not to run kids art classes this year. I have the privilege of having an exhibition in June at my representing gallery Artis Gallery in Auckland. This is very exciting for me as it is a big step career-wise, but it means I need to concentrate on my sculpture practice and get a bunch of new work made in the next few months. Also I now have my own gallery and studio on Buckingham Street (you can follow me on fionagarlickartist)so I need to be present in it, particularly during these summer months! All going as planned you will find me there most days working in the studio so please feel free to drop in with the kids to show them what I am up to!
Its been an amazing 5+ years of teaching some amazing little creatives. Thank you all!

Prints from our cardboard blocks… I love them and I’m sure the parents do too. But the kids were strangely circumspect about print making. “Why do we have to print more than one?”

Last week when I was at school camp the talented Jasmine Clark Artist took my class for me. Look at these lovely print blocks… works of art in themselves! We will be printing from them this week. Can’t wait to see how they turn out!

If there’s still some recycled sculptures being finished for the sculpture competition tomorrow you are welcome to drop em off first thing in the morning!

How cute are these charcoal spring bunnies? (Apart from the demon bunny with the red eyes that is! 🤣👿). I have a couple of spaces available in my Thursday Big Makers class (8-12 yrs). PM me if you have a keen creative kid.
