MOTIONTIME WINS IN NAIL-BITING FINISH

Motiontime held on to win in a close finish to the Speight's 1200m at Wingatui today.

Ridden by Kavish Chowdhoory, she raced outside the pacemaker Miss Brittany, led early in the run home and lasted by half a head from Magneto who came from second last early. There was a neck to third-placed Perfect Moment .

Motiontime, who won her previous start at Riccarton, is a 3yr-old filly trained by Michael and Matthew Pitman.

We're so thrilled that Royal Khan (Megan) has won the 2023 Season Buller West Coast Racing Awards Thoroughbred of the Year. Megan is treasured by the PHR team - being Paul's 500th individual winner. Congratulation to our West Coast ownership team (celebrate hard!) and a special thanks to Karyn McQuade for the allowing us the privilege of leasing her. Yay!!!!

Ponzi Pony/Gordie is a stable fav with plenty of ability. His owners' patience was rewarded with a great win at Riccarton and, with an ounce of luck, there would have been more. His races are definitely worth a review! It is with some reluctance that his owners offer him for sale on gavelhouse.com. While sad, our team look forward to his future success.

We have the very tough job of saying goodbye to the horses Paul loved. Bella/Eccellenza is on Gavelhouse this week. Paul thought this mare would get better and better with age. We had been looking forward to her next preparation. Great to have a horse that thrives on the Polytrack too.
