Healing Touch is a relaxing nurturing energy therapy. Gentle touch may assist in balancing your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Healing Touch may initiate the “relaxation response” in the body, releasing endorphins and relaxing muscles which improve circulation and oxygen levels. This assists the immune system and promotes the body’s innate ability to self heal. ‘All healing is basically self-healing. For example; a physician can set a broken bone but the body itself heals the fracture.
Healing Touch is based on a heart-centered caring relationship in which the practitioner and client work together. The practitioner allows energy to flow to the client and the client naturally receives the energy it needs to self-heal. Healing Touch complements conventional health care and is used in collaboration with other approaches to health and healing.
Healing Touch is well established in the United States where is is often offered to patients in clinics and hospitals. Medical research is continuously showing that Healing Touch can promote deep relaxation and assists the maintenance of general health and well-being as well as many other specific benefits. Most research is carried out in the US and can be read on the Healing Beyond Borders website. https://www.healingbeyondborders.org/

What can you expect?
A Healing Touch session is typically administered while the client lies on a treatment table fully clothed with pillows and a blanket. It may also be given in a chair or in a hospital bed.
The practitioner then chooses a Healing Touch technique that is appropriate for the clients needs.
It may include light physical touch on or just above the body. A session may last 30-60 minutes depending on the treatment goal and techniques used. All Healing Touch treatments follow a general format and clients will get the most from their session/s if they can be specific about their healing needs and be prepared to discuss their goals, such as: relaxation, stress management and/or relief from specific symptoms.
