We need to collect all team uniforms and playing equipment for all teams not participating in further tournaments this season.

If you are a parent or player, please make sure you return your shirts to your coach ASAP.

If you are a coach, you can return your gear to the Lakes FC storage facility (behind Ciabatta Bakery on White Street).

Drop-off Times:

- Dates: September 22nd and 23rd
- Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

⚽️🔥🏆 NZSS Finals 🏆🔥⚽️

We have had the privilege of running the NZ Secondary Schools Trident tournament for boys. It’s been a great experience having high level high school football back in Rotorua and to top it off Rotorua Boys' High School have made the final.

The game kicks off at 1pm Friday 4th September.

It will be a big clash as they go head to head with Rutherford College.

Lakes FC is proud to announce a partnership with the Ricki Herbert Football Academy to offer skills sessions in Term 4, right here in Rotorua.

Ricki Herbert is a former All Whites Coach and has founded the RH3 Football Academy based in Cambridge. You can find out more about the Academy's philosophy, mission and playing environment on their website.

Sessions will be run at Puarenga Park, Te Ngae Road for the following age groups

U11, U12, U13 Time - 4pm - 5pm
U14, U15, U16 Time - 5.15pm - 6.15pm

These sessions will be open to both males and females

November 13th & 27th
December 11th

And just like that, another junior football season comes to an end!

Other than a few tournaments that’s a wrap for regular football.

A massive thank you to all of our players, coaches, managers, parents and supporters who have made this another fantastic season. Whether you’ve been on the field, coaching from the sideline, washing uniforms, getting kids to games or simply cheering them on, you’ve all played a part.

We also want to acknowledge the incredible volunteers across ALL of our Rotorua football clubs.

There is a special group of people working tirelessly behind the scenes every week to make junior football happen in our city. They set up fields, organise teams, find coaches, solve problems, answer countless messages and do a hundred other jobs most people never see.

They probably deserve far more recognition than they’ll ever receive, but Rotorua junior football simply wouldn’t be what it is without them.

We’re incredibly fortunate to have clubs that are willing to work together and people who give their time, energy and mahi for the benefit of our tamariki. That collaboration helps make Saturday mornings run as smoothly as they do.

⚽ NZSS TRIDENT TOURNAMENT – WE NEED YOUR HELP! ⚽

We are truely excited to be hosting a secondary schools tournament back in Rotorua in 2026.

From Monday 31 August to Friday 4 September, Lakes Football Club will be helping host the NZSS Trident Tournament here in Rotorua — and it’s going to be a massive week of football!

We’ve already had some fantastic referees put their hands up to be involved, but with over 100 games across the week, we’re going to need a few more! Referees will be paid $60 per game, and whether you can cover one game, a few games or multiple days, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re also looking for some awesome volunteers who can help us set up the six fields each morning before the football gets underway. Even if you can only help for one morning, every extra pair of hands makes a huge difference.

So if you love football, enjoy setting up fields, fancy getting the whistle out, or simply want to help us put on a great tournament for secondary school players from around the country, we’d love your support!
