Circles are symbolic to me — no beginning, no end. Whole. Fulfilled. Soft. Open. Safe.
For me, they represent people and the connections between us.
Jacki Barklie, mixed media artist explores shape, form and reflection…..these hand-formed paper vessels are inspired by the ebb and flow of salty waters, layered with rich patinas that speak of tides, time, and quiet discovery.

LUCENT STRATA
What happens when artwork doesn’t simply reflect light… but holds it?
Lucent Strata is a body of work exploring transparency, light and the space between layers.
When illuminated, the artwork comes alive — casting subtle shadows, radiating colour and creating an atmosphere that shifts with the surrounding light.
It becomes more than something to look at.
It becomes a mood within the room.
Each piece transforms its space in a way that feels almost unexpected — part artwork, part light, part experience.
I’m fascinated by where this can go… and how far I can stretch the boundaries of what an artwork can be.
Lucent Strata — art that holds light.
