Another great day with our Head Start crew yesterday!
We started the morning with a visit to Ara Rau to learn more about the support they offer young people looking to get into employment and the different pathways available.
Then it was off to Carmichael Reserve for a clean-up! A big thanks to Alice for suggesting the spot after noticing a fair bit of rubbish while out on her walks. The crew got stuck in and did an awesome job cleaning up the area.
A great day learning about opportunities for the future while also doing something positive for our local environment.

What a day in the tunnel house!
Our Head Start crew got stuck into pricking out seedlings, mixing potting mix and sowing seeds.
They absolutely smashed it, getting most of the knobbly clubrush seedlings into their own cells and giving them some much needed room to grow!
Plenty of dirt, plenty of skill building and a pretty awesome effort from the whole crew.
Another great Wednesday with our Head Start crew!
We braved the cold wind and spent the day getting hands-on with some of the tools we use in our conservation projects. Everyone had a turn on the ATV, learning to drive or being a safe passenger. We also spent some time learning about pre-start checks and toolbox meetings.
We promise it wasnโt all about hanging out with the horses and feeding them carrots ๐คฃ

A huge thank you to Daltons for generously donating 20 bags of Native Potting Mix to Outflow Trust.
This donation will directly support our native plant nursery, giving our Head Start participants valuable hands-on experience growing native plants that will make their way into our local dunes.
