Hey Temuka. If you've noticed some activity around Denmark and Wilkin Street lately, it's because we're preparing for a significant upgrade of your local electricity network.
From 30 September through to mid-October, we'll be repairing and upgrading parts of the network that need attention, helping improve reliability, support future electricity needs, and reduce the need for ongoing repairs.
🚧Traffic management will be in place while work is underway, so please take care around work sites and allow a little extra time when travelling through the area.
⚡Planned power outages will be required so our crews can safely complete the work. If your property is affected, you'll be notified directly via email or post with details of any outages. If you are unsure whether your contact details are up to date, please check with your electricity retailer (the company you pay your power bill to).
📫As the project is being completed in stages, some customers may receive more than one outage notice. 👉To see if your property is affected in this first stage, visit our website and type in your address: https://www.alpineenergy.co.nz/customers/outages
We know planned outages and roadworks can be inconvenient, and we appreciate your patience while this important work is carried out.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we carry out these upgrades to help keep power flowing safely and reliably for the Temuka community.
Before your gear hits the ground - or the sky - check for power lines first.
Safety first, always. Because getting home safely matters most.
Watch now and share with your crew.

🌱 Small crew. Big impact.
A team of Alpine volunteers, with family members, recently swapped their usual weekend plans for gumboots and spades, helping plant native species on Beach Road as part of the Our Waitarakao project.
Together, they helped launch a project that will see 750 native plants established along the waterway, improving water quality and creating healthier habitats for native plants and wildlife around Washdyke Lagoon.
Supporting projects like this is one way we're bringing our Sustainability Roadmap and commitment to Thriving Communities to life. By investing in the health of our local environment today, we're helping create a stronger, more sustainable future for the communities we serve.
A big thank you to Canterbury (ECan) for organising the day, and to our team and their families for rolling up their sleeves and making a difference. 💚🌿
