Apply for adventure activity operator registration 15/07/2026

WorkSafe New Zealand have a new online application form for Adventure Activity Operator (AAO) registration and renewals: https://www.worksafe.govt.nz/topic-and-industry/adventure-activities/apply-for-adventure-activity-operator-registration/ This means AAO applicants can now apply for a new AAO registration or renew an existing registration online.

The new process is intended to make applications easier to complete and to help WorkSafe process them more efficiently. The online form allows applicants to save their work, track where it is up to, and return to it later to complete and submit it.

To use the online form on WorkSafe’s website, applicants will need to register for WorkSafe's online services and log in using a RealMe login. This is explained as part of the registration process.

If applicants need to use the existing PDF forms, they can still do so. However WorkSafe encourages the online option wherever possible.

Note: You still need to have completed your audit and received your new certificate to apply for WorkSafe registration.

6. Social Media Isn't Broken. It's Doing Exactly What It Was Designed to Do. Social media doesn't fail us when serious diving incidents appear; it works as designed, rewarding certainty, outrage and judgement over curiosity. The cost is the silenced stories that hold the most learning. Before commenting, ask whether you're ai
