Victoria Rescue - NZRT7

Last weekend the team participated in the 2026 Wellington Relay for Life! Thank you to everyone who has supported our Relay for Life fundraising efforts! We've raised $4,864 so far towards vital cancer research and support all across Aotearoa New Zealand (and there is still time to donate)! 💚⛑️

Last week was a big one for the team!
- On the 18th of April we were out helping our friends Porirua City Council assess the state of flooding and checking in with affected
- A couple days after that we had teams both providing welfare support at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, and out in Lower Hutt supporting our friends at NZRT-18 Hutt City Emergency Response Team.
- In amongst all that we also got to celebrate something special; with team leader Andrew marking 10 years in the team to the day by spending it in the Porirua EOC acting as our liaison officer! While there'll likely be more celebrations from New Zealand Response Teams - NZRT later on, a surprise cake at training will do for now.

Stay safe and dry out there folks, and please follow any instructions that come from civil defence.

We're out and about doing welfare checks and recon across Porirua.
