The Electronic Darkness of Lima
SCHMERZ (German for "pain") is a Darkwave/Coldwave and Electronic Post-Punk project originating from Lima, Peru. The project has evolved from a solo act into a powerful and atmospheric duo, led by Hitam Laga and Casiopea. The core sound of SCHMERZ is an unrelenting electronic Darkwave, built on the industrial coldness of synthesizers, programmed sequences, and raw drum machines. In its current phase, the duo has integrated guitar with reverb and effects, achieving a dramatic balance between the electronic machinery and the raw expression of Post-Punk and Gothic Rock.
