People were gathered that night not only to celebrate your 50th birthday, but also to honor your years of faithful service, guidance and love for the community especially your life itself devoted to God’s mission.

As said, the greatest gift a priest can receive from everyone is not wrapped in ribbons - it is the presence of the people whose lives he has faithfully served.
And that went the same with you that night for you are very much loved and appreciated.
