Under the leadership of 𝐅𝐂𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐎 𝐅. 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆, 𝐌𝐁𝐀, 𝐌𝐏𝐌, 𝐃𝐒𝐂, Regional Director, BFP Region V, and under the supervision of 𝐅𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐒 𝐁 𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐎, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, BFP Masbate, Balud Fire Station, led by the incoming Officer-in-Charge, Municipal Fire Marshal, SFO1 Eldrin R Cadiz, paid a courtesy call to the Municipal Mayor of Balud, Masbate, Hon. Mayor Rodolfo “Dondon” O. Estrella Jr., as part of the formal assumption of his new assignment. The occasion also served as an exit call for SFO2 Marcelo A Lagsa II, the outgoing Officer-in-Charge, Municipal Fire Marshal, in recognition of his service and leadership at Balud Fire Station. The courtesy and exit calls highlighted the continued strong partnership and coordination between the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-Balud) and the Local Government Unit of Balud in promoting fire safety, emergency preparedness, and the protection of lives and properties within the municipality.

The weekly flag ceremony serves as a reminder of our commitment to public service, discipline, unity, and patriotism. It also strengthens our dedication to protecting lives and property while providing emergency services to the community.

Under the leadership of 𝗙𝗖𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗝𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗢 𝗙 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚, DSC, Regional Director of the Bureau of Fire Protection Region V, thru the supervision of 𝗙𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣 𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗦 𝗕 𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗢, RCrim, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal of Masbate, and led by SFO2 Marcelo A Lagsa II, Officer-in-Charge, the personnel of Balud Fire Station participated the Congressional Meet 2026 parade.

With pride and enthusiasm, our personnel took part in the parade as a symbol of unity, camaraderie, discipline, and community spirit. More than just ceremonial activity the parade brought everyone together in support of our athletes and in celebration of the values that sports continue to promote- teamwork, determination, respect, and sportmanship.

The participation of the Balud Fire Station reflects our continued commitment to being active and supportive partner in community activities.

CASTILLO, RC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal of Masbate, and led by SFO2 MARCELO A. LAGSA II, Officer-in-Charge, the personnel of Balud Fire Station conducted a Fire Safety Inspection and distribution of Fire Safety Leaflets as part of the Fire Safety Awareness Campaign.

The activity was conducted in Barangay Poblacion, Balud, Masbate, where personnel carried out inspections and distributed Fire Safety Leaflets to further increase the residents’ awareness on fire prevention and safety measures.

The activity aimed to provide the community with essential information regarding common causes of fire and the simple measures that can be taken to prevent its occurrence.

Among the important reminders were to exercise caution when using electrical appliances, avoid plugging multiple appliances into a single outlet, regularly inspect extension cords and electrical connections, and ensure the safe use and proper storage of LPG.

The importance of properly storing flammable materials, keeping the surroundings clean and orderly, and ensuring that doors, passageways, and other potential exits remain unobstructed in case of fire or other emergencies was also emphasized.

Under the leadership of 𝐅𝐂𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐎 𝐅. 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆, 𝐌𝐁𝐀, 𝐌𝐏𝐌, 𝐃𝐒𝐂, Regional Director, BFP Region V, and under the supervision of 𝐅𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐒 𝐁. 𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐎, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, BFP Masbate, the personnel of Balud Fire Station, led by 𝐒𝐅𝐎𝟐 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐎 𝐀. 𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐒𝐀 𝐈𝐈, Officer-in-Charge/Municipal Fire Marshal, actively participates in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2026, spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

This activity aims to strengthen preparedness and response capacities in the event of an earthquake. Personnel executed the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and conducted evacuation and simulation exercises to ensure readiness in real-life scenarios.

𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐎, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, BFP Masbate, the personnel of Balud Fire Station, led by 𝐒𝐅𝐎𝟐 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐎 𝐀. 𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐒𝐀 𝐈𝐈, Officer-in-Charge/Municipal Fire Marshal,
together with MDRRMO-Balud conducted the 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) CY 2026 at PNP-Balud as requested to demonstrate the proper earthquake response procedures and promote disaster preparedness among personnel.

The activity highlighted the correct ex*****on of the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique, orderly evacuation, and accountability procedures during simulated earthquake emergencies. Through the conduct of the drill, participants were able to enhance their awareness, coordination, and readiness, ensuring that emergency response procedures can be executed efficiently and effectively in the event of an actual earthquake.

Under the leadership of 𝐅𝐂𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐎 𝐅. 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆, 𝐌𝐁𝐀, 𝐌𝐏𝐌, 𝐃𝐒𝐂, Regional Director, BFP Region V, and under the supervision of 𝐅𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐒 𝐁. 𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐎, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, BFP Masbate, the personnel of Balud Fire Station, led by 𝐒𝐅𝐎𝟐 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐎 𝐀. 𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐒𝐀 𝐈𝐈, Officer-in-Charge/Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted an Enhancement Skills Training on Proper Bandaging Techniques.

The activity focused on enhancing the knowledge and practical skills of personnel in the proper application of triangular bandages (cravats) for various first-aid situations. Personnel conducted hands-on practice on head bandaging, arm bandaging, and shoe-on and shoe-off bandaging techniques, which may be used as temporary first-aid measures to support and immobilize injured or sprained areas while awaiting further medical attention.

The training emphasized the importance of proper bandage application, appropriate positioning, and maintaining patient comfort and safety. Through continuous skills enhancement and practical familiarization, Balud Fire Station strengthens the readiness, confidence, and competence of its personnel in providing prompt, safe, efficient, and effective emergency medical assistance to the community.
