Ayon sa MMDA, sinimulan na noong August 24, 2026 ang Drainage Improvement Project sa Marcos Highway, Pasig–Marikina–Cainta Section.

Bahagi ng proyekto ang 3.7-kilometer interceptor pipeline mula Halang Creek hanggang Marikina River na makatutulong sa pagdaloy ng stormwater.

Asahan po ang traffic at posibleng delays habang nagpapatuloy ang construction. Planuhin po natin ang ating biyahe, maglaan ng dagdag na oras, at gumamit ng alternate routes kung maaari.

𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has commenced the implementation of the Drainage Improvement along Marcos Highway, Pasig–Marikina–Cainta Section.

The project, which started on August 24, 2026, is expected to be completed within 330 calendar days.

It involves the construction of a 3.7-kilometer interceptor pipeline along Marcos Highway, extending from Halang Creek to the Marikina River.

The interceptor will utilize a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe with a minimum diameter of 1.5 meters, designed to accommodate up to 11 cubic meters per second of stormwater flow and withstand high hydraulic pressures during peak flow conditions.

As the drainage improvement project gets underway, motorists traveling toward Pasig, Marikina, Cainta, and Antipolo are advised to expect traffic congestion and possible delays in the affected areas.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly, allow additional travel time, and take alternate routes when possible.

The MMDA will continue to coordinate with concerned local government units to manage traffic flow and minimize the impact of the ongoing works on motorists and commuters.
