4 ARRESTED, OVER ₱20.5-MILLION SUSPECTED DRUGS SEIZED IN SEPARATE PNP OPS

Under the leadership of PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units in different parts of the country seized more than ₱20.5 million worth of suspected illegal drugs in separate operations conducted on September 24, 2026, resulting in the arrest of four individuals.

In Oriental Mindoro, operatives of the Roxas Municipal Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Regional Intelligence Unit 4B served search warrants in Barangay Bagumbayan, Roxas, leading to the arrest of a 41-year-old high-value individual. Authorities recovered approximately 275.55 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱1,873,740.00, along with fi****ms and ammunition.

Meanwhile, at the Customs Secondary Inspection Area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City, three passengers were arrested after approximately 18.679 kilograms of suspected ma*****na kush, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱18,679,000.00, were discovered in their luggage during screening procedures.

The operations underscore the PNP's continuing efforts to prevent illegal drugs from reaching communities and to strengthen coordination with other government agencies, particularly in areas serving as entry and transit points.

“We cannot let our guard down. We will continue to act on information brought to us, work with our partner agencies, and make sure that our operations are conducted properly. Ang goal natin ay simple—keep these illegal drugs away from our communities,” PGen Nartatez said.

SEVEN COMMUNIST TERRORIST MEMBERS ABANDON ARMED STRUGGLE IN EASTERN VISAYAS; GUNS, GR***DE TURNED OVER

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., supported ongoing government efforts to end local armed conflict in Eastern Visayas as seven Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members voluntarily surrendered in separate operations in Leyte, Northern Samar, Samar, and Eastern Samar on September 22 and 23, 2026.

In Northern Samar, personnel of the 2nd Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company (NSPMFC), together with the 20th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army (PA) and 803rd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 8 (RMFB8), facilitated the surrender of alias “Janos,” a 32-year-old Filipino farmer and identified Yunit Militia member under SRC EMPORIUM of the Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee (EVRPC).

In Leyte, personnel of the 1st Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company (LPMFC), alongside the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Leyte Police Provincial Office (PIU-LPPO), City Intelligence Team-Ormoc, Regional Intelligence Unit 8 (RIU-8), and Burauen Municipal Police Station (MPS), facilitated the surrender of alias “Manoy,” a 38-year-old Filipino farmer and former CTG member. He turned over one caliber .357 Smith & Wesson revolver without serial number, three rounds of live ammunition, and one hand gr***de.

In Eastern Samar, the 801st Maneuver Company, RMFB 8, with PIT-Northern Samar, RIU-8, and the 1st Eastern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company (ESPMFC), facilitated the surrender of alias “Gabi,” a 51-year-old Filipino farmer identified as a Yunit Militia member and NPSR-listed individual.

Also in Eastern Samar, the 805th Maneuver Company, in coordination with PNP-IG ISOD and the 2nd ESPMFC, assisted the surrender of alias “Pedro,” a 38-year-old Filipino farmer and NPSR-listed CTG member under SRC SESAME, EVRPC. He surrendered one revolver of unknown caliber and three rounds of live ammunition.

The same unit subsequently assisted the surrender of alias “Ben,” a 39-year-old Filipino farmer and NPSR-listed CTG Militia member under SRC SESAME, EVRPC. He turned over one handgun revolver of unknown caliber and three rounds of live ammunition.

In Samar, personnel of the 802nd Maneuver Company facilitated the surrender of alias “Lando,” a 38-year-old Filipino farmer, former Yunit Militia member under Bugsok Platoon, SRC SESAME, EVRPC, and NPSR-listed individual.

Later on September 23, alias “Wenang,” a 49-year-old Filipino farmer from Hinabangan, Samar, voluntarily surrendered to the 2nd Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd SPMFC) and pledged allegiance to the government while withdrawing support from the CTG organization.

The seven individuals are now under the custody of their respective units for documentation and assessment for possible enrollment in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) and other appropriate reintegration initiatives. The recovered fi****ms, ammunition, and gr***de have likewise been secured for documentation, safekeeping, and proper disposition.

CEBU COPS ARREST MOST WANTED PERSONS IN MURDER, STATUTORY R**E CASES

Under the leadership of PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units in Cebu arrested two individuals listed among the province’s most wanted persons in separate operations on September 23, 2026.

In Talisay City, personnel of the Toledo City Police Station of the Cebu Police Provincial Office arrested a wanted individual listed among the No. 10 Most Wanted Persons in the Police Regional Office 7 for two counts of statutory r**e. The arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the court, with no bail recommended.

In a separate operation in Medellin, Cebu, personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group–Cebu Provincial Field Unit arrested another individual listed among PRO7’s No. 8 Most Wanted Persons. The suspect was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder, also with no bail recommended.

Both individuals are now under police custody for appropriate legal proceedings. The PNP said the arrests reflect the continuing efforts of police units to locate and apprehend wanted persons through lawful and focused operations, while observing due process and the rights of all persons involved.

“We will continue to go after wanted persons through lawful and proper police action. Ang mahalaga, ginagawa natin ito nang may respeto sa proseso ng batas at sa karapatan ng bawat isa,” PGen Nartatez said.

ONE CALL LEADS TO FOUR ARRESTS, FI****MS AND EXPLOSIVES RECOVERED IN QUEZON

Under the leadership of PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), a timely report from a concerned citizen led to a swift police response that resulted in the arrest of four individuals and the recovery of several fi****ms, ammunition, and explosive devices in Catanauan, Quezon early Thursday morning, September 24.

The Catanauan Municipal Police Station acted on information regarding suspicious individuals inside a hotel in Barangay 08, including a report that one of them was carrying a long firearm. Police personnel immediately verified the information and, together with other operating units, proceeded to the area where the four individuals were arrested.

Recovered during the operation were an M16 rifle, three pistols, several magazines and rounds of ammunition, and two hand gr***des. Two rifle gr***des and two rounds of ammunition for an M203 gr***de launcher were also recovered from a vehicle that investigators are checking for its reported connection to a robbery/hold-up incident in Trece Martires City, Cavite on September 23.

The four arrested individuals are being processed in accordance with established procedures. Criminal complaints for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act No. 9516 concerning unlawful possession of explosives are being prepared for filing before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Catanauan, Quezon.

PGen Nartatez underscored the importance of public cooperation in preventing incidents before they escalate.

POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGED GUNFIRE IN TARLAC

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., has arrested a police officer following the alleged illegal discharge of his service firearm during a family dispute in Victoria, Tarlac, reinforcing the PNP’s policy that its personnel are accountable for their actions.

The incident occurred on September 22, 2026, at Rigor Compound, Barangay San Nicolas, Victoria, Tarlac. Initial investigation showed that the 26-year-old patrolman, assigned to the Angeles City Police Station, was allegedly under the influence of liquor when he figured in an argument with his father over a family land dispute.

During the altercation, the patrolman allegedly drew his PNP-issued firearm and fired one shot into the air. Concerned residents alerted authorities, prompting personnel of the Victoria Municipal Police Station to respond to the area.

Responding police officers arrested the patrolman, recovered a fired cartridge case, and confiscated his issued firearm. He remains under the custody of the Victoria MPS while requests for ballistic examination and paraffin testing are being processed, along with the necessary documents for the filing of appropriate charges.

PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. stressed that police officers are expected to observe the same laws and standards they are sworn to enforce.

“A police uniform does not place anyone above the law. Every officer is expected to exercise discipline, restraint, and responsibility, especially when entrusted with a firearm,” PGEN Nartatez said.

23.7 TONS OF COPPER ORE SEIZED OVER DOCUMENT IRREGULARITIES IN CEBU

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has strengthened coordination with concerned government agencies to help protect the country’s natural resources, resulting in the interception of approximately 23.7 tons of copper ore in Cebu City.

The operation was conducted on September 22, 2026, in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City, by the CIDG Mandaue City Field Unit in coordination with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region VII, Cebu City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CCENRO), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Authorities intercepted a 10-wheeler wing truck carrying approximately 23,760 kilograms of copper ore, with an estimated value of ₱800,000.00. A male driver was taken into custody in connection with the operation.

The driver presented an Ore Transport Permit and Certificate of Mineral Origin. However, verification by the MGB Region VII reportedly found irregularities in the documents, prompting authorities to treat the shipment as subject to further investigation under the Philippine Mining Act of 1995 or Republic Act No. 7942.

Chief PNP Gen. Nartatez emphasized that the PNP’s role extends beyond conventional law enforcement, particularly when the protection of the country’s natural resources requires coordinated action.

“Kapag may concern na may kinalaman sa ating likas na yaman, we have to look at it carefully and work with the agencies that have the technical expertise. Hindi lang ito tungkol sa isang shipment; it is about making sure that our laws are observed and that legitimate activities are protected,” PGen Nartatez said.

₱6.9-M WORTH OF SUSPECTED SMUGGLED GOODS RECOVERED IN TWIN PNP OPERATIONS

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units in Batangas and Lanao del Norte carried out separate operations that resulted in the seizure of more than ₱6.9 million worth of suspected smuggled petroleum products and ci******es on September 23, 2026.

In Batangas, personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Batangas Provincial Field Unit, together with the Batangas Police Provincial Office, arrested a man during an operation targeting the unauthorized trading and distribution of petroleum products at a fuel station in Barangay Santor, Tanauan City.

Recovered during the operation were approximately 16,000 liters of diesel, a tractor head, a fuel tanker, and other petroleum-related equipment, with an estimated value of ₱3.5 million. The arrested individual and the recovered items are under the custody of the CIDG Batangas PFU for proper documentation and appropriate legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, in Maigo, Lanao del Norte, police personnel recovered 85 master cases and 100 reams of suspected smuggled ci******es valued at approximately ₱3.4 million during an anti-smuggling operation in Barangay Sta. Cruz. Two Mitsubishi L300 vans were also recovered in connection with the operation. The seized cigarette products will be turned over to the Bureau of Customs for proper disposition.

PNP Chief PGen Nartatez said the operations demonstrate the importance of sustained police presence and coordination in addressing the movement of illicit goods, particularly those that can affect legitimate businesses and government revenues.
