Today, we celebrate a monumental step in the vocation journey of our brother, Jhong. For four years, he has been an active and dedicated Youth Servant Leader (YSL) under Caritas Manila, pouring his heart, talent, and time into community service. Having successfully finished his degree as a proud scholar, he is now answering a higher call. He is officially entering the seminary to begin his formal formation for the priesthood! 📖✨
As he steps into the seminary gates, we send him off with prayers and the spirit of Luke 22:26: "The greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. Over the past weeks, CAMASA alumni, together with fellow Young Servant Leaders (YSLs) and the YSLEP Calamba Coordinator, have been conducting house visitations for the new applicants of the YSLEP Program.

More than a part of the application process, these visits became meaningful moments of encounter, service, and reflection. For many of us who were once scholars ourselves, this experience brought back memories of our own journey and reminded us of the people who once visited our homes, listened to our stories, and believed in our dreams. It is truly a kind of service we have deeply missed.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who generously shared their time, talents, effort, and presence to make these activities possible. Your willingness to serve has made a difference not only to the applicants but also to the families we met along the way.

To all the alumni of our chapter, thank you for continuously sharing your treasures and supporting this mission. Your generosity and commitment are living reminders that the YSLEP spirit does not end with graduation—it continues through every hand extended in service and every life touched with compassion.

The journey toward becoming a YSLEP scholar begins with faith, commitment, and guidance.

Last June 12, 2026, the new YSLEP applicants, together with their parents, participated in the Holy Mass in celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart at San Isidro Labrador Parish at 6:00 AM, followed by a solemn procession.

After the religious activities, a Pre-Orientation for the new applicants and their parents was conducted to provide an overview of the Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP), its history, mission, and the pre-phase application processes. The orientation served as an important venue for both applicants and parents to gain a deeper understanding of the scholarship program and the responsibilities that come with being part of the YSLEP community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all the parents who attended the orientation. Your presence and support are essential in helping your children navigate their educational journey and fully appreciate the opportunities and responsibilities that accompany this scholarship.

The CAMASA Alumni also shared their time and valuable insights regarding the duties and responsibilities of YSLEP scholars and their parents, emphasizing the importance of active participation, commitment, and partnership in achieving the goals of the program.

This Pre-Orientation was facilitated by YSLEP Calamba Coordinator Mr. Roy Armodia, together with the YSLEP Formators, CAMASA Alumni, and YSL Officers, whose dedication continues to inspire and guide the next generation of scholars.
