18 SEPTEMBER 2026 | IBP NATIONWIDE KATARUNGANG PAMBARANGAY AND COMMUNITY LEGAL AID ACTIVITY

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Laguna Chapter held the IBP Nationwide Katarungang Pambarangay and Community Legal Aid Activity on 18 September 2026 at the J.P. Rizal Coliseum in Calamba City, Laguna.

The activity aimed to strengthen public awareness of the Katarungang Pambarangay system, promote accessible and peaceful dispute resolution, and expand access to legal assistance and services within the community.

In support of this meaningful initiative, PAO-Calamba lawyers and staff actively participated by providing legal counseling and assistance to community members seeking guidance on their legal concerns.

Through collaborative efforts among the legal profession and community partners, we continue to bring accessible, responsive, and people-centered legal assistance closer to those who need it most.

18 SEPTEMBER 2026 | ADDRESSING ISSUES AND CHALLENGES IN THE EX*****ON OF BARANGAY AMICABLE SETTLEMENTS

The Public Attorney’s Office – Calamba City District Office (PAO-Calamba) conducted a seminar for the Lupon Members of Barangays Sto. Domingo, Maitim and Calo, Bay, Laguna, aimed at addressing the issues and challenges encountered in the ex*****on and enforcement of barangay compromise agreements.

The seminar provided an avenue to clarify legal concerns, deepen the understanding of the Katarungang Pambarangay Law, and promote the proper and effective ex*****on and enforcement of compromise agreements.

Through continuing legal education and collaboration with barangay justice stakeholders, PAO-Calamba remains committed to strengthening access to justice and promoting the peaceful and efficient resolution of disputes at the community level.

14 SEPTEMBER 2026 | HANDOG NG PANGULO: SERBISYONG SAPAT PARA SA LAHAT

PAO lawyers and employees from PAO-Calamba, PAO-Siniloan, and PAO-Sta. Cruz participated in the “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat” held at the Provincial Capitol, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

The activity is part of the nationwide simultaneous service caravan and one-stop-shop program of the President, bringing government programs, assistance, and essential services—including free legal aid—closer to local communities.

As part of the activity, PAO lawyers provided legal counseling, documentation assistance, and notarization services to members of the public.

Through initiatives such as this, the Public Attorney’s Office continues to bring accessible legal assistance closer to those who need it most.

03 SEPTEMBER 2026 | RA 11930 ORIENTATION

ANTI-ONLINE SEXUAL ABUSE OR EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN (OSAEC) AND ANTI-CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE OR EXPLOITATION MATERIALS (CSAEM) ACT

The Calamba City Justice Zone, in cooperation with the Public Attorney’s Office, Office of the Prosecutor, City Government of Calamba, DSWD, PNP, and Power and Justice Foundation, Inc., conducted an Orientation Session on Republic Act No. 11930 and Other Related Laws for Resort Owners, Caretakers, Agents, Flaggers, Tourism Police, and Other Key Persons in the tourism and hospitality sector.

The session covered the following important topics:

* Salient Points of RA 11930
* Action on Reported OSAEC and CSAEM Cases
* Victim-Sensitive Handling of Cases
* Actions and Responsibilities of Internet Hotspot Providers, Resort Owners, Caretakers and Employees, and Law Enforcement Agencies

The orientation highlighted the importance of strengthening the awareness, vigilance, and coordinated response of tourism establishments and law enforcement authorities in preventing and addressing the online sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

This initiative is especially significant for Calamba City, known as the Resort Capital of the Philippines, where resort owners, personnel, tourism officers, and tourism police play an important role in safeguarding children, recognizing potential risks, and preventing their exploitation.
