PNP SEIZES ₱628 MILLION WORTH OF SMUGGLED AND COUNTERFEIT GOODS, ARRESTS 656 IN JULY

The Philippine National Police (PNP) strengthened its campaign against smuggling in July, confiscating approximately ₱628 million worth of smuggled goods, counterfeit products, and other illegal articles in a sustained nationwide effort to protect consumers, support legitimate businesses, and uphold economic security.

From July 1 to 31, 2026, the PNP conducted 2,927 anti-smuggling operations, leading to the arrest of 656 individuals involved in various violations of existing laws against smuggling, intellectual property infringement, and related illegal trade.

The confiscated items, with an estimated value of ₱628 million, represent a significant blow to illicit trade networks that undermine legitimate commerce, deprive the government of lawful revenues, and expose consumers to unregulated and potentially unsafe products.

These accomplishments are aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) by strengthening intelligence-driven enforcement and fostering close coordination with partner government agencies in combating economic crimes. The campaign also supports the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in promoting fair trade, protecting lawful enterprises, and maintaining a secure environment for economic growth.

Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., said the PNP remains committed to disrupting criminal networks that profit from illegal trade.

"Our campaign against smuggling goes beyond confiscating illegal goods. It is about protecting consumers, safeguarding legitimate businesses, and ensuring that criminal organizations do not profit at the expense of the Filipino people."
He likewise emphasized the importance of sustained inter-agency cooperation and public vigilance.

"Patuloy nating palalakasin ang koordinasyon sa ating mga partner agencies at hinihikayat natin ang publiko na agad iulat ang anumang impormasyon tungkol sa smuggling, at iba pang uri ng illegal trade. Sa sama-samang pagkilos, mas mapoprotektahan natin ang ating ekonomiya at ang kapakanan ng ating mga mamamayan."

The PNP assured the public that intensified operations against smuggling and other economic crimes will continue nationwide through lawful, intelligence-driven, and rights-based enforcement. PNP'S JULY CRACKDOWN NETS 8,199 WANTED PERSONS, ₱387.1-M ILLEGAL DRUGS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) intensified its nationwide law enforcement efforts throughout July 1 to 31, 2026, conducting 5,526 anti-illegal drug operations and arresting 8,199 wanted persons in separate police operations across the country.

During the month-long campaign against illegal drugs, police units arrested 6,368 drug personalities, while three others died during legitimate police operations. The operations also resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱387,136,464.40.

Among the illegal drugs seized were 45,334 grams of suspected shabu, 82,036 grams of dried ma*****na leaves, 320,036 ma*****na plants, 336 grams of suspected co***ne, 29 grams of suspected ecstasy, and 2,123 grams of suspected kush ma*****na.

Meanwhile, the PNP's campaign against wanted persons led to the arrest of 8,199 fugitives, consisting of 2,352 Most Wanted Persons and 5,847 Other Wanted Persons, through sustained intelligence-driven operations conducted by police units nationwide.

The July accomplishments reflect the continuing implementation of the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, by strengthening police visibility, intelligence gathering, and coordinated law enforcement efforts against criminality. PNP RECORDS 36.12% DROP IN FOCUS CRIMES IN JULY 2026

The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded a 36.12% decrease in focus crimes nationwide for the period of July 1 to 31, 2026, compared with the same period last year, reflecting sustained efforts to strengthen public safety and maintain peace and order across the country.

Based on the latest crime statistics, focus crimes declined from 3,458 incidents in July 2025 to 2,209 incidents this year, or 1,249 fewer cases. Among the eight focus crimes, the biggest reductions were recorded in r**e, which dropped by 56.93%; carnapping of motor vehicles, down by 46.15%; carnapping of motorcycles, down by 42.59%; physical injury, down by 40.40%; robbery, down by 34.34%; theft, down by 31.28%; homicide, down by 5.26%; and murder, down by 4.61%.

The PNP said the continuing decline reflects the collective efforts of police units nationwide, working closely with communities and partner agencies to prevent crime and respond more effectively to public safety concerns. The accomplishment also supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under the Enhanced Managing Police Operations pillar, while contributing to the peace and development priorities of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

PNP STEPS UP NATIONWIDE OPERATIONS; DESTROYS ₱15.9-M WORTH OF MA*****NA, NETS 18 MOST WANTED PERSONS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) sustained its intensified nationwide law enforcement campaign on August 1, resulting in the destruction of approximately ₱15.9 million worth of ma*****na plants in Kalinga and the arrest of 18 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) facing various criminal charges in separate operations across the country.

In Tinglayan, Kalinga, joint operating teams from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Kalinga Police Provincial Office, Police Regional Office Cordillera, PNP Special Action Force, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and other partner units conducted simultaneous ma*****na eradication operations in Barangays Loccong and Buscalan.

The teams uprooted and destroyed on-site around 79,500 fully grown ma*****na plants with a combined Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱15.9 million. No cultivators were apprehended, and follow-up operations are underway to identify those responsible.

On the same day, police units nationwide successfully served warrants against 18 Most Wanted Persons, including individuals listed at the national, regional, and provincial levels. Those arrested face charges that include murder, r**e, qualified r**e, statutory r**e, qualified theft, violations of Republic Act No. 9165, acts of lasciviousness, and sexual assault. All arrested individuals were placed under the custody of the operating units for proper legal proceedings.

These accomplishments reflect the PNP's continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, through intelligence-driven and coordinated law enforcement efforts in support of the peace and security initiatives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

PNP SEIZES ₱15.3-M WORTH OF ALLEGED SMUGGLED CI******ES IN DAVAO CITY

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported the confiscation of more than ₱15.3 million worth of alleged smuggled ci******es following a law enforcement operation conducted in Davao City, underscoring the government's continuing campaign against illicit trade and economic crimes.

The operation, carried out by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in coordination with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Region XI and local police units, resulted in the arrest of a 35-year-old male suspect known by the alias "Prin."

Authorities also recovered hundreds of master cases and reams of alleged smuggled ci******es believed to have entered the country without the required government clearances and tax markings.

Initial investigation showed that the seized to***co products allegedly lacked the mandatory Graphic Health Warnings, BIR Excise Tax Stamps, and the necessary import clearance from the National To***co Administration, indicating possible violations of existing laws.

The operation forms part of the PNP's intensified efforts to curb economic offenses under its Focused Agenda, particularly through enhanced police operations aimed at protecting legitimate businesses, safeguarding government revenues, and supporting the national drive for economic security.

It also complements the broader direction of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen law enforcement against illegal trade and protect the country's economy.

Chief, PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units for their coordinated efforts and reaffirmed the PNP's commitment to pursuing individuals involved in illicit commercial activities.

"Hindi lang gobyerno ang nalulugi sa ganitong uri ng ilegal na gawain. Apektado rin ang mga lehitimong negosyo at ang serbisyong dapat napapakinabangan ng taumbayan. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating operasyon laban sa mga lumalabag sa batas habang tinitiyak na ang lahat ng aksyon ng PNP ay naaayon sa batas at may paggalang sa karapatan ng bawat isa," PGen Nartatez said.

He added, "Our message is clear: we will continue working with our partner agencies to protect the country's lawful commerce and hold accountable those who choose to profit from illegal activities."
