Today, the DCT Student Emergency Response Team joins the Dominican community in celebrating the Feast of Saint Dominic de Guzmán, founder of the Order of Preachers, commonly known as the Dominicans.

Saint Dominic de Guzmán (1170–1221) was a Spanish Catholic priest and preacher who devoted his life to spreading the Gospel, pursuing truth, and serving others. He founded the Order of Preachers, which was officially approved by Pope Honorius III in 1216, with a mission centered on preaching, education, study, and the pursuit of truth.

His dedication to faith, learning, compassion, and service continues to inspire the Dominican community to live out these values in their daily lives.

May the celebration of his feast remind us of our shared responsibility to serve with compassion, uphold the truth, and use our knowledge and abilities for the good of others.

𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐘 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐓 | Weather Advisory

Although Luis has weakened into a Low Pressure Area (LPA), its remaining circulation continues to enhance the southwest monsoon (Habagat). At the same time, Tropical Depression Maymay is now the primary weather system affecting the country, bringing widespread rainfall across many parts of Luzon.

Due to the combined effects of these weather systems, heavy rains may continue, increasing the risk of flooding and rain-induced landslides in vulnerable areas.

The DCT Student Emergency Response Team (SERT) reminds all Dominikanos to remain vigilant, avoid flood-prone areas whenever possible, and stay updated through official advisories from PAGASA and your local government.

Preparedness saves lives. Stay informed. Stay safe.

With Yellow Rainfall Warning currently in effect, the DCT Student Emergency Response Team (SERT) reminds every Dominikanos to stay alert and practice extra caution. Continuous rainfall may lead to flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas, so it is important to remain prepared at all times.

As weather conditions can change quickly, we encourage everyone to monitor official advisories, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rains, and never attempt to cross flooded roads or waterways.

Take a few minutes to prepare your emergency essentials, keep your communication devices charged, and check on your family, friends, and neighbors—especially those who may need assistance.

Your safety starts with preparedness. Let’s all stay informed, stay vigilant, and look out for one another.

Stay safe, Dominikanos!
