TODAY’s GMRC | Appreciate What Your Mother Prepares

Do not take for granted the food your mother prepares for you. It may not always be your favorite, but behind every meal are her time, effort, and love.

Before you complain about what is on your plate, remember: some people have nothing to eat, while others would give anything to sit once more at a table with their mother.

“Honor your father and your mother” (Exodus 20:12).
Be grateful for the food. Be even more grateful for the mother who lovingly prepares it.

TODAY’s GMRC | Let Your Children Grow Through Challenges
If you make life too easy for your children today, they may grow up unprepared for the difficulties of tomorrow.

Love does not mean removing every hardship from their path. Sometimes, the most loving thing we can do is allow them to struggle, make mistakes, accept consequences, and learn to rise again. Be there to guide them—but do not fight every battle for them.

Scripture reminds us: “Suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character” (Romans 5:3–4).

Prepare your children not for an easy life, but for a meaningful and faithful one.

Do not remove every stone from their path. Some stones are there to make them stronger.

TODAY’s GMRC | Don’t Put Others Down
Trying to make someone else look bad will not make you look good in the eyes of God.

We do not become greater by exposing another person’s weakness or damaging another person’s name. St. Paul reminds us that the Christian way is humility—not seeking our own glory at another person’s expense.

“Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves” (Philippians 2:3).
In God’s eyes, greatness is not found in making others look small, but in having a heart humble enough to lift them up.

TODAY’s GMRC | Repay Your Parents’ Love by Living Well
Our parents may never ask us to repay all the sacrifices they have made for us. Their sleepless nights, hard work, prayers, patience, and countless acts of love cannot really be measured in money.

Perhaps the most beautiful way to honor them is to become the kind of person they prayed we would become—a person who is kind, responsible, faithful, and close to God.

Material gifts can make our parents happy, but a life lived well gives them a deeper joy. When children choose what is right, remain faithful to God, and become a blessing to others, their parents can say, “All our sacrifices were worth it.”

Scripture reminds us: “A wise child brings joy to a father” (Proverbs 10:1).

So always remember: The best way to repay your parents’ love is to live a good life pleasing to God above.
