In line with the celebration of National Womenโ€™s Month, PRMSU Castillejos conducted a meaningful session aimed at equipping students with essential life skills beyond the classroom.

The discussion emphasized the importance of financial planning and disaster preparedness, highlighting how small yet intentional actions today can shape a more secure future and a safer, more resilient community.

Ms. Jhellian Mae F. Abuyo, a financial advisor, emphasized that achieving financial stability begins with small steps, stressing the necessity of having both a financial and a health plan.

โ€œAng mahalaga nagsisimula tayo sa maliitโ€ฆ it is a must that we have a financial plan and a health plan. If it is possible for me, itโ€™s not impossible for you,โ€ said Abuyo.

She further highlighted that discipline and consistency in financial management empower individuals, especially students, to take control of their future regardless of their current situation.

The discussion then expanded to disaster preparedness, shifting the focus from personal readiness to collective responsibility in times of emergency.

Fire Officer 2 Judeline Jacinto Mangoba, LPT, Municipal Chief Admin, emphasized that individuals must not only learn how to respond but also how to extend help to others, noting that preparedness is the most vital weapon during emergencies.

Mangoba underscored that everyone has a role during emergencies, including students, who can contribute through simple yet crucial actions such as making emergency calls and assisting those in need.

โ€œPreparedness is not just a lesson; it is a habit,โ€ she stated, adding that the knowledge gained today may one day save lives. Students were encouraged to act with readiness, alertness, and compassion rather than fear when emergencies arise.

The session concluded with a strong reminder not to neglect even minor incidents, such as small fires, as these can escalate into major tragedies if left unattended.

โ€œThe safety of the people should be the highest law.โ€ This message anchored the Seminar on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace conducted by President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) Castillejos Campus for BSBA and BSCS On-the-Job Training (OJT) students on December 17, 2025.

The seminar focused on orienting students about acceptable workplace behavior, institutional policies, and legal protections, particularly the Safe Spaces Act (Republic Act No. 11313). Students were also informed of the proper procedures and channels for reporting incidents of sexual harassment during their internship.

Serving as resource speaker, Sir Dominic L. Callo underscored the importance of fostering respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free work environments. He emphasized that both students and employees have the right to work and learn without fear of abuse, discrimination, or intimidation.

The activity also highlighted the importance of preparedness prior to deployment, as students transition from academic settings to real-world professional environments. Through discussions and real-life scenarios, participants were guided on identifying acts of sexual harassment, understanding consent and personal boundaries, and responding appropriately when violations occur.

The seminar officially opened with remarks by Maโ€™am Beulah Doreen T. Cruz, GAD Coordinator, followed by a message from Dr. Allan A. Roque, CBAPA Chairperson. Maโ€™am Marie Celia R. Aglibot, OJT Instructor delivered the closing remarks, reiterating the universityโ€™s commitment to student welfare and workplace safety.

The Gender and Development (GAD) Office of President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) Castillejos Campus conducted a seminar titled โ€œSexual Harassment in the Workplaceโ€ on June 19, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the Hybrid Laboratory. The event was led by Ms. Beulah Doreen T. Cruz, Campus GAD Coordinator.

The seminar aimed to inform third-year students from the College of Teacher Education (CTE) about Republic Act No. 11313, also known as the Safe Spaces Act or Anti-Bastos Law. With many of the participants preparing for their Field Study courses, the activity served as a timely discussion on fostering safe and respectful environments both on and off campus.

The resource speaker, Sir Dominic L. Callo, delivered a comprehensive discussion on identifying acts that fall under workplace sexual harassment, stressing the importance of consent, mutual respect, and maintaining professional boundaries.

"Itโ€™s very alarming kasi hindi namin alam na yung iba pala under ng Anti-Bastos Law e unconsciously nating nagagawa, and thankful kasi ngayon alam na natin yung mga โ€˜yon and ma-aavoid na natin," shared Marjorie Jasmien Torres, one of the participants.

The program commenced with an opening Remarks from Dr. Ivy H. Casupanan, Campus Director, followed by Opening message from Dr. Raymond D. Espiritu, BEED Chairperson. The event concluded with Closing Remarks from Dr. Geraldine A. Pagunsan, BSED Chairperson.
