GOLDEN HOUR
The overall design draws inspiration from the transformation of raw earth into something refined and precious—expressed through a restrained palette of natural textures, mineral tones, and bold architectural forms.
Board-formed concrete textured walls establish the residence’s grounded character, recalling the raw, mineral quality of the earth from which gold is extracted. These tactile surfaces are balanced by charcoal accents and structural elements, creating depth, contrast, and a strong contemporary identity.
Above, the distinctive roof with inverted eaves becomes the defining architectural feature. Its broad, dramatically projecting form creates a strong horizontal presence while appearing to float lightly above the solid volumes of the house. The generous overhangs provide essential shade and shelter from the tropical sun and rain, while the warm wood-toned soffit introduces a subtle golden character beneath the dark roof edge. This contrast between the bold, dark roof line and the warm soffit reinforces the Golden Hour concept—raw, structural, and grounded on the outside, yet warm and refined beneath.
Large window openings dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, drawing natural light deep into the home while visually connecting its spaces to the surrounding landscape.

GOLDEN HOUR
Inspired by the journey of gold from its raw origins in the earth to its final refined state, the interiors translate extraction, filtering, and refinement into material, texture, form, and light.
Earthy mineral tones establish the foundation—natural stone, warm taupes, deep browns, and charcoal details recalling layers of soil, rock, and sediment. Against this grounded palette, bronze and subtle golden accents gradually emerge, reflecting the transformation of raw material into something precious.
In the dining space, the richly veined stone table becomes a strong expression of the concept, reminiscent of mineral deposits and natural strata, while warm leather, dark timber, and bronze-toned details reinforce the earth-derived palette. Above, the sculptural illuminated pendants introduce movement and luminosity, almost like traces of gold revealed within the landscape.

GOLDEN HOUR
Inspired by the journey of gold—from its discovery in the earth to the meticulous process of harvesting, filtering, separating, and refining—the interior palette translates each stage into material, texture, and light.
The stone and mineral tones represent the earth from which gold is drawn. Soft taupes, sand, warm greys, and textured surfaces recall layers of soil, sediment, and mineral deposits. Deep bronze and dark metallic details reference the filtering and separation process, while restrained touches of warm gold and amber light symbolize the precious material that finally emerges after refinement.
Rather than using gold literally or excessively, it appears almost as a reward within the composition—revealed through the chandelier’s glow, metallic accents, and subtle warmth against an otherwise quiet, mineral palette.
Even the dramatic chandelier works beautifully with the story: its cascading strands can be read almost as particles of gold dust being sifted, filtered, and gathered, suspended within the double-height volume.
The result is a home that moves from raw to refined, earthy to precious, subdued to luminous—capturing not simply the color of gold, but the process of discovering it.

A Modern Tropical Filipino Abode 🍃🇵🇭
Showcasing Filipino Culture and Craftsmanship through Art and Design
One of the most fulfilling aspects of our work is creating spaces that are unconventional yet truly responsive to our clients’ needs, character and lifestyle.
As lovers of nature and places of refuge, we envisioned this space as an oasis—a sanctuary where tall windows frame lush greenery, blurring the boundaries between indoors and out and fostering a sense of oneness with nature. Rich textures and a palette inspired by the Filipino tropical landscape envelop the interiors, while natural light gently illuminates the space, reminiscent of the warm, golden glow captured in the paintings of Fernando Amorsolo, celebrating the beauty of our homeland.
Beyond aesthetics, thoughtful planning ensures that functionality and well-being are never compromised. The open layout, with visual connectivity to the ensuite bathroom, enhances safety and supervision while preserving privacy through the use of smart glass technology—demonstrating that innovation and comfort can coexist harmoniously.
A space where nature, culture, and thoughtful design come together to create a true refuge.

A Modern Tropical Filipino Abode 🌱🇵🇭
Showcasing Filipino Culture and Craftsmanship through Art and Design
Designing this abode for a Filipino couple became an opportunity to rediscover the beauty of Filipino values, traditions, and the way we truly live and gather as a family.
The layout moves away from the conventional — thoughtfully shaped instead around how Filipinos naturally receive guests, celebrate milestones, and spend time together. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed by lush tropical landscaping and a generous receiving space at the heart of the home.
At its center is an open kitchen with a bar, seamlessly connected to a communal dining table that accommodates up to 20 guests — reflecting the Filipino love for shared meals and meaningful conversations.
The lounge area features a modern interpretation of the traditional duyan — a space designed for rest, gentle movement, and comfort. Inspired by how our elders once embraced naturally breezy spaces (presko) to relax while keeping mosquitoes away, it brings nostalgia into a contemporary setting.
And of course, no Filipino gathering feels complete without music and entertainment. The home integrates centralized speakers, spaces for television and karaoke, and even showcases the owners’ personal collection of paintings — making the house not only a place of living, but a reflection of Filipino warmth, creativity, and togetherness.
Through carefully curated local materials, tropical elements, craftsmanship, and art, the home becomes a modern expression of Filipino identity — rooted in culture, yet designed for contemporary living.

A Modern Tropical Filipino Abode 🇵🇭
Showcasing Filipino Culture and Craftsmanship through Art and Design
Designing this abode for a Filipino couple became an opportunity to rediscover the beauty of Filipino values, traditions, and the way we truly live and gather as a family.
The architecture embraces openness, natural ventilation, and seamless indoor-outdoor living — principles deeply rooted in traditional homes, thoughtfully adapted for contemporary living. Notable Filipino craftsmanship is thoughtfully expressed through woodworks, weaving and carved elements reinterpreted in a modern way.
Throughout the home, traditional Filipino ventilation techniques were thoughtfully integrated into the design — from espejo clerestory openings that allow natural light and airflow to pass through the spaces, to bintanang capiz expressed through a series of checkerboard wooden-framed windows, and persiana or slanted wooden louvers that encourage ventilation while providing privacy and shade.
The architectural landscapes and pond further reflect the Filipino way of life — deeply connected to nature, simplicity, and livelihood. Inspired by the tranquility of provincial living, the outdoor spaces were designed to evoke a sense of calm, familiarity, and harmony with the environment. Lush tropical planting, natural materials, and water elements create an atmosphere that feels both grounding and restorative — reminiscent of how Filipino homes once coexisted closely with the land, water, and surrounding landscape.
